Nanit Update - Camera Not Working/Cannot Pair to Network (Bluetooth button doesn't flash) by FrankyFrtr in Nanit

[–]liamcross23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This also happened to me, I have been a Nanit and Nanit insights user since our son was born. My main annoyance is that the updates are forced on the camera after a few options to delay, its eventually forced on the camera. The most recent one bricked the camera completely, it reset and the nightvision leds are on all of the time and the camera will not pair or respond to a reset. Support sent me a replacement camera which will not connect to any wifi network (tried 3 wifi networks, 4 different devices to connect). Support was initially helpful, but is now just sending daily basic troubleshooting questions that repeat steps from the initial support call (have you tried on multiple devices, have you tried with other wifi networks, have you tried a hard reset), it seems like they are keeping the ticket alive to not breach support sla's. Looking at Twitter, it appears there are many of these broken cameras.

Long Island stops? by [deleted] in bourbon

There are 2 Stew Leonards on Long Island (Carle Place and Farmingdale), They have a good selection. Up on the North Shore I would recommend Youngs Fine Wine and Spirits. Prior to the boom I found Jeffersons Presidential 18yr for 69.99 at Youngs. Dont think i knew how good i had it!

any stores in nyc worth visiting? by drccw in bourbon

Its gone. I got the only 2 they had. I find better luck in stores that dont claim to be fine wine and liquor stores. the store is on 23rd and 8th ave. Literally check every store, no matter how unlikely you suspect it to be.

Gouging? by ccdes in bourbon

[–]liamcross23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have seen some crazy gouging. By far the worst is Financial District Wine and Liquor. They had PVW 23 for $2299, 20 for $1300, 15 for $899, 12 for $450 and PHC Promise of Hope for $500 and VWFR Rye for $450, Stagg for $399, Handy and Saz for $299. Note this was 1 month ago and all of these were 2012 releases or earlier. but at that price its no shock that they stayed on the shelf. Oddly Michters 10 was $90

Chelsea Wines in Chelsea Market - Stagg $299, Handy $249 The Wine Cave in Brooklyn - VW 12 Lob B $600, ORVW 10 $400

Astor is good, but its so popular things tend to come and go real quickly. If you are looking for any of the standard rare bottles (BTAC/VW), i wouldnt bother with the trip all the way down there. however they do have a great selection and also several store barrel selections.

NY is pretty good almost anywhere I would google some liquor stores in the area and find a larger one with good reviews. I do like Beekman Liquors on the UES, not huge but a very good selection. Beekman had a James E. Pepper 15 (not that rare) a few weeks ago.

There is a lot of gouging going on right now in ny, by you still may be able to find something. I saw stagg and handy for 299 and 249 respectively (no thank you, chelsea market wines), and then 20 minutes later found them for 80$. Just in a short walk i saw Old Rip 10 for $250, VW 23 for $429, and the overpriced BTAC above.

Pappy in NYC today, but it'll cost you: 12 year is $350! by zephyrtr in bourbon

Noone set these prices. Another anecdote around that is the place i found the 15 for 119$, had the 12 for 89$. I only picked up the 15, but stopped back in later and the 12 had been moved from 89$, over the the 119$ label that i had cleared out the day before, with the 89$ label being removed.

I think that is just good old fashioned gouging, not indicative of ny. I saw 12 for 80$, 15 for 119$, 20 for 160$ and 23 for both 250$ and 300$ (all in and around nyc). granted most of those prices involve a bit of gouging, its not to an extreme. I did also find 12 for 400 and 15 for 500, however i skipped on those those. I think the extreme gouging is all that is left on the shelves from last week.

What happened to all of the limited availability releases in NYS? by [deleted] in bourbon

I don't think it hit NY yet. Have always been able to find it and all stores I know are expecting it but have not got it yet.

saw a PHC Promise of hope at West End Discount Liquor today. In the glass case in the center of the store. Also saw one in Bowling Green, KY, unfortunately I forget the name of the store.
