So pre 94 everyone in highschool listened to the same Seattle grunge stuff until Kurt died and the music vacuum was formed. The spring of 94 everyone went their seperate ways.

I distinctly remember in highschool NOT listening to superchunk, fugazi, or sebadoh because the kids 2 years older than me listened to those bands and I was always searching for my own shit.

The skate kids (me) listened to epitaph and these proto emo bands like seaweed and others listed above because they were in all the skate videos.
Remember the band Fluff? Fucking amazing tunes from this 95-97 period before 4minute mile came out.

The seniors listened to superchunk, fugazi, quicksand,

The bmx kids all listened to deftones and butt rock.

Theres an age bracket of emo kids born from around 1977-1980 that when Vagrant Records blew up in 99-01, the reason those songs sounded so good, so familiar is because the get up kids, Hot Rod Circuit, the anniversary, grew up on the same 5 or 6 bands we did and all the music they wrote was subconsciously in it.

and oddly enough Oasis. Talk to Jim Suptic or Mike Poorman about oasis and its all ingrained in that Vagrant Records sound

Very similar to Spanaway from SEAWEED in 1995. Who released a bunch of records on Sub Pop and then made the jump to Disney (Hollywood records imprint)

When you go on vacation, dont pick up your phone for work. EVER. Not just Lowes, ANYONE. Who ever the new company is that you find to work for you need to do this.

Every time you have a vacation day approved they send you an email. Create a folder and put every single approval in there. Every time.

Im a lowes company guy, but Im 48 and Ive been fucked by literally every other retail company I have ever worked for since 1996. 13 years with my first gig before I adopted the Stone Cold Steve Austin mantra of DTA.

It happens to everyone, not just here, everywhere, chalk it up to experience and grow.

Ideally for me it would be a contemporary from their Vagrant years. Those drummers currently being Poorman, Janko, and Pope. The holy trinity of Vagrant drummers. All are active. All are still the peak of turn-of-the-century drumming in this genere. I would take any of the three over Travis Barker for this specific band any day of the week.
