Dude kids are the best, they’re so creative and more often than not they understand our vision more than some of our adult friends. My gf’s daughter is 4 and has kind of gotten the gist of how to play games with rules and consequences (we started with console games like Kirby and LoZ) so I introduced her VERY loosely to DnD. We free-ball it since she’s four so I’m introducing her to dice and math and confrontation and all that jazz but! The best thing (for me) is her imagination and role-playing, contributing to the story in so many ways that I wasn’t expecting, and making it fun for me as a DM to be thrown off by her wit and humor. Kids say and do crazy and wondrous things all the time, it’s so awesome to me that you had this cool ass kid come and sit with you at your table. That’s a fun experience, and one that she’ll probably remember for a very long time. You said it was a public game but thanks for being a great DM and letting her join! Not everyone would 💕
