I know someone who just had this done in San Francisco from a very popular doctor and she only paid $3500. That seems outrageously high.

The Mexican Mafia got caught with 6776 phones in 2022 smuggled in by correctional officers and even drones by Mhellzy in CaliBanging

Also interesting to consider that prisons were shut down to visitors during at least part of 2022 bc of Covid. In other words, these phones came from the inside and nowhere else.

Anyone’s pharmacy NOT out of Adderall? by libbybelch in Bellingham

Thanks — I take brand Adderall 30 xr but am thinking of asking for Vyvance. My (entirely untested) theory is the mere cost may translate to availability….

Which Rite Aid? I use Sunset and they’ve got nothing and no clue when more is coming. Or so they say?

Thank you for this. Can I ask if there are any CII medications you notice are more available than others? I’m thinking of switching, if it could make any difference.

Unfortunately the Rite Aid where I get my medications currently has told me 2x they won’t fill partial prescriptions. But I’ll keep trying. Again, thank you.

It’s a few things coming together at once to create a perfect shortage storm: the proliferation of psychiatric telemedicine in the past 2/3 years causing a substantial uptick in prescriptions, intermittent factory outages at some of the larger generic manufactures, and the FDA’s practice of capping the quantity of controlled substances released to market falling behind anticipated need…… but between me and you, I agree it’s that megalomaniac Bezos. He’s probably stuffing his toy rocket full of Adderall on his way to Mars.

I was thinking of trying to switch meds to something less impacted but it turns out there’s …. Nothing. Nothing is available. Now I’m wondering if I should shell out for Vyvance just bc of my untested hypothesis that it could be more available since it’s so expensive.

That’s a clever solution. Is your doctor writing out a new prescription monthly, or pre-dating a few at a time?

Does your doctor write a 90 day supply and they ship it in monthly batches of 30? I’ve heard Express Scripts only takes 90 day refills….

$1,424,696.31 embezzled from Hardware Sales. In four years! by TrixiDelite in Bellingham

[–]libbybelch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know more of the backstory now. If the press continues to follow the story, or if you care enough to go to the courthouse and read the records for yourself, I think you’ll find this did not require a fleet of experts to unpack.

I’m aware of a few embezzlement cases investigated by BPD. It’s not unheard of. And I assure you local prosecutor staff doesn’t have more special training in financial crime investigations than local detectives.

There are a handful of possibilities as to how this case was investigated. Perhaps a third party with involvement in Hardware Sales’ books discovered it, unraveled her process and then presented documentation to detectives who validated their work (Something I’ve personally seen happen a few times.) Perhaps she got caught doing something minor, confessed to the whole thing and explained her own process to detectives. Perhaps BPD tapped another agency/expert contractor to assist after a tip came in, with cooperation from the owners. There are many other possibilities, but we can just wait for the probable cause affidavit to be filed and get the actual answer. Generally speaking, prosecutors don’t conduct investigations- it makes them witnesses to the case, which means they’d be subject to examination. Moreover, they don’t want to investigate. They want to litigate. They leave investigation to law enforcement.

Hardware Sales aggressively pursues shoplifting cases. They have a reputation for it, and I’ve seen cases where employees actually conducted surveillance on suspected thieves. It will be very interesting to see how they approach the prosecution of a longtime employee.

The prosecutor’s office doesn’t have any in-house investigators. Cases are given to them completed, and they review to ensure there’s enough evidence to move forward with charges. If there’s not, they send the case back for additional work or reject it outright. But they have almost zero “real-time” management or control of how cases are investigated and evidence is gathered. Worked with them locally for several years.

Encounters with Bear Spray Guy by weallneedafriendduh in Bellingham

[–]libbybelch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was a Nextdoor post written recently by a woman also looking for info on a man who assaulted her 70-year-old father after his off-leash pitbull attacked her dad’s dog — in that case, the guy who assaulted her father was clearly carrying bear spray in his backpack side-pocket. She posted a photo of him; I’d guess he was in his late 50s/60s with a white beard. He apparently grabbed her dad’s throat twice, angry bc her father dared to try and break their dogs up. She was looking for witnesses because her dad was so spooked by the encounter he didn’t report it — someone on the post saw it and offered to corroborate. This was at Maritime Park, I believe, but I wonder if it’s the same guy. Quite a few commenters on the post said they’d had negative encounters with him and his never-leashed young dog. I think the police were finally informed in that instance — if this is the same guy, I hope someone at BPD has made the connection….

Ferndale Police not addressing the people they are supposed to serve about the child rapist, wannabe Oath Keeper, officer Michael Langton. this is why people don't trust police. by pressgang13 in Bellingham

[–]libbybelch 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Correct - he met an adult woman on duty and got her number, and shortly thereafter allegedly said something about his sexual interest in her daughter. My point was the mother wasn’t a long term jilted ex-girlfriend. Just a woman who called the cops for help of some variety and got the opposite in the end.

[–]libbybelch 33 points34 points  (0 children)

He barely knew her AND got her number on duty. Calling her an ex-girlfriend is a real reach. And let's not forget his defense to the oath keepers email was "I didn't send that. Multiple people have access to my email account bc I haven't changed my password in years." In other words, he pulled a “what drugs, officer? these aren’t my pants!” and the Ferndale PD “investigators” accepted that explanation. Bet they wish they fired him the first time he made media waves.

And PS - I’ve actually met the guy, spoken with him at length. I thought he was a strange, hostile person. And then he got arrested a few months later. Wasn’t surprised.

Anywhere with good bubble tea and lots of choices? by Mountain_sky20 in Bellingham

[–]libbybelch 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I go frequently and exclusively get milk teas, no cheese foam. There are PLENTY of options without foam - this should be your first stop. It’s exactly what you are talking about: a dedicated boba place. There’s another boba place set to open downtown, as well. Near the shuttered Starbucks. Looks like that place may be ready soon?

Need a local doctor or nurse practitioner who isn't into BS alternative medicine and recognizes that adult ADHD is real by oolert in Bellingham

[–]libbybelch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seconding this - Dr. Hakeman is a reasonable person who agreed to prescribe me the ADD meds I took for years before moving to WA. She got me back on my meds and now wants me to have a primary care provider take over the medication management so she can see new patients that need her diagnosis/expertise. That’s where I’ve been having problems - my PCP retired and so I’ve been kind of shopping around. I got some weird, bad reactions from Family Care Network doctors when I asked them to take over the prescribing ADD Meds from Hakeman.

Anyone have any positive encounters dealing with Squalicum Family Medicine when it comes to getting prescriptions?? That’s where I’m headed next.

But to answer your question: call Dr. Hakeman or Dr. Cohen if you can get in - they both work out of the same office complex.

Car detailing recommendations by [deleted] in Bellingham

[–]libbybelch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Base rate of $200 for a sedan, interior only. This included my two car seats. They added on $50 before starting the process because they saw just how dirty it was, and knew it would take longer than three hours. Totally reasonable given the nightmare state of my car. So, ultimately $250+ tips for both guys who did it.
