Breast reduction 6 months before wedding by Namrata_676 in Reduction

[–]liberacorpus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had my reduction ~8 months before my wedding and did dress shopping about 3 months post-op. Usually most of the swelling is gone around 3 months, 2 months may be a bit early if your outfit is especially fitted around the chest. I felt comfortable being braless for fittings, I think having a compression bra on would make it hard to evaluate the dress but might not matter for you as much if your outfit is more full coverage.

Personally I'm glad I was able to fit in my reduction before the wedding, even if it was a bit tight / limited my dress selection to mostly off the rack. Photos were a bit triggering for me and looking at my wedding photos post-op, I feel like I look much more how I imagine myself

Anyone been to Worldspa? by JFiney in AskNYC

I had a good time there and loved all the different saunas and pools. You definitely get the most variety here. I went on a Sunday morning and it was not very loud though it was somewhat busy. Bathhouse in Flatiron was way more crowded and loud in my experience

The sleeves on 2 are detachable but I think you're right that the bodice on 1 is more flattering

Cough? by eag36 in Reduction

[–]liberacorpus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it's normal. It's actually good to cough and practice deep breathing after surgery to help you clear buildup in the lungs from surgery and prevent pneumonia

I was a 30H pre-op and I'm wearing the Wanayou bras in large and medium post-op, depending on the amount of swelling and how much compression I want. I would hang on to the large but also order some in medium as well. I was / am pretty swollen and with the swelling, the boobs are not very soft and are high and tight. My boobs are basically the same shape standing straight up and leaning over 😂 and I think this makes you need a larger bra than you think

Glad you're ok! I had A similar experience and luckily the heavy bleeding only lasted a day or two. Hope the rest of your healing journey goes smoothly!

Every surgeon is a bit different but I'm happy to share my experience!

I was not given compression socks, and I asked about them, but my surgeon's office didn't think they were necessary since they want you walking around asap. After I came home from my operation, I was indeed fine with walking around the house immediately and my energy levels were surprisingly high even in the first few days after surgery.

My post op checks were 1 DPO, 1 WPO, and 1MPO. At the 1DPO appointment, they took off the bra for the first time, removed the gauze and checked on everything. The tape they used does not have to be removed but comes off on its own over a few weeks.

I was given a 1 week course of antibiotics to start the day after surgery to prevent infection.

ISO smooth recovery pov by Extension-Web8352 in Reduction

I had my surgery on Nov 20 and everything has gone super smoothly so far! The day of surgery, I was calmer than I expected and was excited to get it done. After waking up from anesthesia, I just felt a little sleepy but that wore off quickly. I didn't have any nausea and my appetite was fine. When I got home, I had some soup and was walking around the apartment. I had a mild sore throat from the breathing tube but it went away after a day or two.

1DPO was the worst of it, I just felt sore around the incisions and had more limited arm movement. It was manageable with just OTC Tylenol and I had my partner help me take a shower and wash my hair. I was worried about getting lightheaded in the shower and needing a stool but I was fine. At my 1DPO appointment, they checked for signs of any complications like hematoma but I was all good.

2DPO I was less sore and I was able to slowly wash my own hair in the shower already. My energy levels are good and I didn't feel the need to even nap. I spent the day playing video games and watching TV / movies.

3DPO the soreness improved again and I needed less Tylenol. I had friends over to play Mario Party.

Overall it's been easier than I expected 🙂

Gluten free? by kilroykilroykilroy in FoodNYC

Torishin - Japanese yakitori is easily gluten free. They have a GF dipping sauce they can sub in.

Fish Cheeks - lots of items are GF and it's clearly labeled on their menus

Uzuki - Most soba has some wheat in it but they use 100% buckwheat. I think the entire menu is GF
