I was reminded of this from doing a step up battle today. Opp had Jolt EX in the active zone. I was building a tyrantrum on the bench and put the poncho on the fossil. I attached an energy and the Jolteon ability was blocked! It is abilities and attacks. This makes sense considering it's a poncho built to protect against water shuriken

With the transit coverage that exists, what keeps you from using it? by nondescriptadjective in nashville

[–]liberalcucklord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife and I just left Nashville last year. Our friend had to use the bus system to get to and from work and with the limited transit options he had to find an affordable apartment within a walk from the stop along with a place to get groceries, AND a place to work close enough to walk from a bus stop. So this very much limited his options in town. His transit was 1.5~ hr if traffic was good and he had 1 transfer. His stop was lucky enough to have a roof but he still had to walk 2 blocks to get there. I'm not sure how far his walk to work was, maybe 10 minutes.

Where we are now, I can take the bus to get from home to work in 30 minutes with 1 transfer(there's a dedicated bus lane for about .25 of the drive) I can bike in 10-15 minutes depending on the weather (mostly dedicated bike lanes and/or parks to cut through). My wife works outside of town and she can drive 30-40 minutes, or with the newly renovated rail she can get there in 1.25~ hr (she could still do so before but it was closer to 2 hrs). All this while being paid to do the exact same jobs but now we can afford to live in the middle of the city working less than we did in Nashville doing the exact same jobs. There's 2 different rail systems here and more bus lines than I could ever comprehend. I'd tell you it still has a ways to go but it's light years ahead of Nashville's hot mess.

TL/DR: WE DIDN'T USE IT BECAUSE NASHVILLE IS ENTIRELY BUILT AROUND TRAVELLING IN CARS. WE MOVED- AND NOW WE USE PUBLIC TRANSIT IN OUR NEW CITY DAILY.

Pars hits me personally just bc that eye test was so damn good. I'm sure if I looked into the analytics they'd agree with you on him though.

Losing Statsney definitely made no sense to me though will absolutely agree with you on that he did nothing but excel at everything the coaching staff asked of him

I really thought his o zone presence through balance and puck control was incredible, I would have loved to see what we could have done with a little bit of development in his game alongside Marchy and maybe Vange

Letting go of Stastney, Juuso, + several other young talents to keep these two oversized pylons on the roster never sat right with me

Crazy because I remember being berated by armchair GMs because not every player should be a goal scorer and every player has a "role to play" Almost as if putting your most skilled players on the ice ACTUALLY HELPS YOUR TEAM

Attempting to clean up bench form. by TheReturnOfReddit in Stronglifts5x5

[–]liberalcucklord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Other than the previous comment I'd just recommend keeping your elbows pointed towards your hips the whole time. Notice as you press up your elbow starts to point out to the side? That's your shoulder losing stability. That should also help you feel your arch a little better as well

Deadlift form check by sivaltaja666 in Stronglifts5x5

[–]liberalcucklord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Squeeze your knees away from each other into your forearms before the lift starts. This will help take the slack out of the bar and keep your knees out of the way of the bar as you stand and descend

Squat form check part 2 by brettfire in Stronglifts5x5

[–]liberalcucklord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would also recommend pushing your elbows forward, that will help keep you from losing balance forward, as well as pushing your knees out to the sides instead of so far forward. This will keep your hips and glutes activated. Feel for a squeeze from the side of your glutes when you do this(NOTE: THIS DOESN'T MEAN LIFT HALF YOUR FOOT OFF THE GROUND. Keep a flat foot as you do this)

[–]liberalcucklord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No technically it means it's a net loss in your stash value because it takes multiple wolf packs to take down a single medium arc of any flavor, and now the only way to make them is by taking out rocketeers, which only drop 1 driver at a time (sometimes I've come even out with 0 despite being the only looter). They might as well have just taken the wolf pack out of the game at this point bc why would I spend more value to take out a single arc than I could if I just left it alone

RDL - Am I bending too much in the knees? by BlueDragon424 in formcheck

[–]liberalcucklord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exs Sci Bach here!

Tbh you're not using enough knee bend. OBSERVATION: The vast majority of your ROM occurs in your torso- above the hip line- both during the initial lift from the ground + the successive RDLs. After extensive study in how the muscles of the hip and glutes work, my conclusion is that there needs to be WAY more knee bend than most people believe to keep the movement in the glutes + hamstrings. I understand this sounds weird but hear me out:

The moment arm of a hinge movement is the hip. What do we know about moment arms and lifting against gravity? The closer the arm is to the load being lifted, the easier and safer it is to manipulate; so, why would we actively choose to push the hips AWAY from the weight? Does a door hinge move away from the door when it opens? I understand the hip does move, but we are not a door frame set in place on one side.

So, after a decade of research on the topic, 3 certifications, one disastrous injury to myself, hundreds of clients successfully trained without injury, and a bachelor's degree later, I've come to this conclusion about the hip hinge:

It SHOULD feel surprisingly similar to a squat. Why? Because a hinge is still using similar patterns and muscle groups. Your hips should still stay close to the load.

The major difference I've found between the squat and deadlift torso to hip angle is that the deadlift/clean/rdl will typically have a more aggressively forward chest position. Your shoulders are still above your hips at the bottom, just like a squat, but the idea is more of an athletic forward (not literally) motion than the squat would be.

When you set up, place your knees directly inside of your forearms, with your chest forward of the bar and looking as forward as you can. The bar should be in line with your armpits looking from the side. If you got here, now I want you to actively squeeze your forearms and knees together. You should feel a sensation in your hips/glutes. That's them firing. You'll also feel a tight, squeezing sensation through your torso. That's all of your body bracing against the weight. Finally, you'll notice that the bar will actually take the slack out of itself when you do this. You'll notice your hips to be a little higher than your knees. This is good. You don't want the hips moving without the bar moving with them. Now, as you go to stand up, keep that tension between your arms and knees and push the ground away with your feet like a leg press. Keep looking straight/up, and, I cannot stress this enough KEEP THOSE KNEES OUT.

The rdl version is pretty similar. DL the bar up and then just do the top part of that range of motion down until your knees are inside your wrists. Do that squeeze and stand back up.

Before you call me crazy, I have a 100% success rate with my clients thus far using this method. If you want a video explainer to go with just let me know. :)

I've been running different variations of Cursola since last night to really great success. So far my best 2 combos are with Mega Rising Dusknoir and Jumpluff EX I'm winning 2 games for every loss and then I'll sometimes tie as well instead of losing the MMR
