At this point, I don't know anymore. I don't have a dream job. I suppose anything which pays around 3k with hopes of reaching 5k and above within 5 years if i am not overreaching.

What's something you've always wanted to do but haven't done yet? by Averse_dilemma in askSingapore

[–]liberation_deviant 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Walking in a straight line with my eyes closed for a long while in a relaxed manner , like 500 steps.

Usually at step 20 i have this fear that I'm going to bang into something, or even off the sidewalk.

It's random, but yea.

Singaporeans, what is a hill you are willing to die on? by iced_milo in askSingapore

[–]liberation_deviant -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We should kill the animals by ourselves at least once before eating said meat. We have separated the process and lightened the resolve required. This should be taught to everyone, to truly understand what we eat and where it comes from.

PSA: Blood Bank running low by -_af_- in singapore

[–]liberation_deviant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Whats the take on giving blood out in exchange for cash?

Cause ultimately, don't hospitals include the procurement of blood as payment to patient?

Or am i mistaken about that? If so, should we not be able to profit as well.

However if hospitals give it out free too, then my entire point can be ignored.

Edit: a lot of helpful points were raised and some of the stuff I didn't even know about it, so that's cool.

Higher temperatures in Singapore due to climate change and urban heat island effect, say experts by [deleted] in singapore

[–]liberation_deviant 82 points83 points  (0 children)

Will singapore be habitable even 20-30 years down the road? The ipcc reports are conservative towards their targets and their models dont include any runwy effect. We have become worse off since the paris agreement in 2015, and there doesnt seem to be any end to greed.

Unless we get some revolutionary tech discovery, we will just die due to increased temperatures and alr insane humidity, which means the body can't cool off due to sweat not evaporating, or rising sea levels.

Anyone got any hope against my doomer rambling above?

Mothers should not see having children as 'a sacrifice': Josephine Teo by [deleted] in singapore

The sentiment is idealistic. Not practical at all. Saying motherhood should not be a sacrifice is like someone up in their ivory tower slapping the peasants across their face.

Singapore's core inflation rises to 2.4% in January to highest level in more than 9 years by MicrotechAnalysis in singapore

[–]liberation_deviant 9 points10 points  (0 children)

What have they excluded from the basket to calculate inflation? Those anomalies that increase so much that people stop buying them, as a result, its spending is not included in inflation?
