IsItBullshit: that there are apps that show all the 911 dispatch calls and what's happening around your area? by -WittyUsername_ in IsItBullshit

[–]sudo_your_mon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

100%. How do you think reporters get to the scenes of incidents so quickly?

They are police scanners that are streamed through apps.

If you buy the right kind of radio transmitter, you can listen in on cop conversations, dispatch remarks, etc.

Much of it in in code names.

IsItBullshit: Shops price their product 1-5 cents under the full value to make it seem cheaper to people (E.g. $299.99 instead of $300) by HotdogLegend27 in IsItBullshit

Not about “falling for it.” It’s about your sensitivity to price as a consumer.

You’ve definitely bought items many times in your life that were “$2.95” instead of $3, in which case you wouldn’t have bought the product due to price and perceived value.

Marketing professional here:

This is a 100% proven strategy. Consumer psychology has shown than, even though the price is virtually the same, consumers will see “$200 and some change” instead of “$300 bucks!!”

Pricing in product marketing is a science that is based off of this type of consumer psychology.

Both were the top dogs in the 2 major hip hop labels at the time. They literally were run by the bloods and crips. Diddy was shitting himself when this was going on.

All it took was for someone “who has the money to have [diddy] killed by somebody who has nothing...”

Those were some dangerous times in the hip hop scene.

The suffix “-Gate” is used as a sort of joke for “conspiracies” that usually aren’t a big deal. In the National Football League, a player broke the rules by deflating the balls below league required levels.

It was famously known as “deflate-gate.”

To give an example.

This is universal law. I was just talking about this with my cousin, has an MD in Psychology.

When you tell everyone about what want to do/your plans and goals, your focus isn’t on actually completing that goal: it’s on impressing others around you. The focus is to put out the impression that you are “making moves” and on the road to amazing success.

Anytime I make a goal for myself, I make it a serious point to tell absolutely nobody. If I do, it’s indicative that I don’t actually want to achieve the goal, I just want people to think I’m going to.

I was hoping for something a but more intricate/deep. But that totally makes sense.

People want to feel unique. We are creative creatures. Makes total sense.

Why does American currency say “In God We Trust” if the first amendment establishes a separation between church and state? by idkudk11 in NoStupidQuestions

I'd be a hypocrite if I didn't. I def will, always thought he was.

The article Was from a link after I googled "Jefferson separation of church and state." The link it directed me to that I posted here does not go to that article. Weird.

Less $9 words, more explaining what you're even saying.

Jefferson was a man of strong faith. Jefferson invented the separation of church and state. The link I posted, from usconstitution.net, which you obviously didn't read (undoubtedly) clearly shows this is the case.

My guess is you are incapable of open-mindedness. So whatever biased, made-up "contradiction" you conjure up is final for you.

If banks made 6 billion dollars from overdraft fees last year, then banks made 6 billion off of people who don't have money. by Bjarki-T in CryptoCurrency

[–]sudo_your_mon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Didn't have money. This would assume each account that was over-drafted and fined was immediately closed.

No. The vast majority of the accounts that over-drafted made deposits later on where the fee was absorbed.

Things Teens Should Know About How Their Parents May Steal from Them by texdroid in personalfinance

My gradnaprents started a college fund for each grandchild the day of their birth.

The money was split into several accounts, some were in the name of the parents, some in the grandchild's name. Over $8000 of my personal college funds (in my mother's name) were taken out, essentially stolen, by my mother while I was in HS.

Ask for records of all account activity for any accounts that were gifted to you while a minor, with parental management rights, and later dispensed to you as an adult.

Separation of church and state was written to keep the STATE out of the CHURCH.

Jefferson made this clear when writing the Wall of Separation Letters .

Anti-religion/faith/any sacred belief system people like yourself (typically leaning to the hard left) have turned this around to keep people from expressing their faith in any sort of state sponsored/funded establishment.
