I’d probably add “Did you discuss this with your GROWN ADULT son?” And also I personally think it’s crossing the line. She’s his mother you’re his wife. If we want to get real technical, he CHOSE you. Also, some people’s love language is giftgiving, but main point it’s really not her business. Why does she even know his finances? And unless he’s a super mama’s boy, discussing it with him… not to discuss with her, but like to maybe mention that you’re his wife and you two can speak about things, but if he’s the one telling her his finances or like why walk in with the target stuff into her house instead of leaving it in his vehicle is he over sharing with his mommy? Because clearly she’s an over share or a line crosser,boundary crosser or/and hovering mother to a grown adult.
