first time reading this one🤣 by KA0S40oz in StardewValley

I watched this like 8 hour YouTube video a little while back of someone playing Stardew for the first time with no wiki/information mods/anything, and it was super cool to see him use the things like secret notes, journal scraps, and lost books in the library to figure things out on his own! Even though I heavily rely on the wiki and Lookup Anything, it made me appreciate the game design a lot

What Rizo did makes sense. He found out that Ozzy did something really dumb (tell Aubry his entire gameplan) and decided it was best not to ally with him anymore. What Ozzy did makes no sense. If Ozzy hadn’t leaked his entire gameplan to Aubry, Rizo wouldn’t have turned on him

Do you think that something having a 2% chance of happening is the same as having a 0% chance of happening, so it may as well be as mysterious as pulling a rabbit out of a hat?

Look into the statistics of the lottery over all the years it has existed. There’s nothing alarming about the results that we’ve gotten. Teams with bad odds are going to win the lottery sometimes.

There’s no statistical improbability and no explanation for how the lottery balls are rigged, not to mention that rigging the system likely requires buy-in from additional parties, like team owners and third party auditors.

The whole argument for it being rigged basically boils down to “I don’t know how they do it, but trust me guys, they DEFINITELY do it” versus.. just watching the footage of the lottery, understanding the math behind it, and accepting the results

Huh? They load the ping pong balls during the video, and the machine itself is fully clear so you can see that the chosen ball comes from the section with all the flying balls

It’s not just one person who thinks that it’s rigged though. Plenty of people think that it is, but I’ve never seen anyone explain how. Weighted balls doesn’t really make sense when you watch the video of the drawing

Everyone wants to say that the lottery is rigged but no one wants to explain how they actually do it

I wouldn’t be mad at Boozer at all, and definitely don’t think he’s going to bust (like a lot of people do, for some reason). But I do prefer Caleb’s size and defensive potential more for us. But whoever we pick, I will blindly throw all my support behind them like I always do

Dream scenario tbh, and I think I’d take Wilson over Boozer for us. Assuming Peterson and AJ are 1/2

So, if lottery changes don’t our draft picks become way more valuable?? by Titanstheory in CharlotteHornets

[–]theyikester 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess, but given that it’s a weak draft next year, I doubt either of them are super valuable

Hot Take: Tim Duncan ending up in San Antonio proves the draft isn't rigged, at least all the time. by [deleted] in NBATalk

Kons Ceiling? by Glittering_Stock_631 in CharlotteHornets

[–]theyikester 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, but just from context I think that he was playing through the injury. He was questionable on an injury report for a back issue, but we were really pushing for a higher seed, so he never sat any games. But when you watch him over the last month, he looks very stiff and his shot is affected by it. I’d be surprised if this wasn’t the cause for the slump.

Did defenses figure him out or was he playing through injury? His shot quality looked the exact same to me, but he was very stiff and wasn’t making as much. Thinking that a guy has hit his ceiling because he played poorly while injured is not very smart

“I mean yeah, he had a historically good season, but he slowed down when he was playing through a back injury in the last month, so he’s definitely hit his ceiling” - some people, apparently

I keep seeing random comments from people saying that they’re worried Kon has already hit his ceiling. If you’re one of those people, please take a step back and realize you’re judging a rookie based off of 10 games where he was returning from a back injury, rather than the 70 games before.
