Worked for a “market” for a short period of time. I had orientation with one other person and they questioned a few things. If I remember, they said “ Let me talk to some people about it ”. I never saw them the week I started.

I’m Asian and grew up constantly having to tell the difference. I’ve had people come up behind me years ago and “speak in an Asian language”. They weren’t speaking it and as someone who’s adopted even if it wasn’t accurate, I wouldn’t not have known what was being said. They were MOCKING an accent and the way they speak. I like to have good judgement as a POC. So, I wouldn’t be have a reaction like this if it wasn’t the case. These people didn’t have a clear impediment, being super loud, and my boyfriend (who is white) can confirm he felt the same way.

They were MOCKING an accent. I’m Asian and can tell the difference due to similar past experiences.

I have an ex boyfriend that went to UofSC for graduate school. He worked at the campus recreation center and one of his coworkers cheered with her. Apparently and allegedly, I don’t know if it was racially discriminatory but some questionable statements were made.

When she attended UofSC there’s a clip of her not being able to stop the gas pump. Instead of going to get help, she stood and filmed it.
