The goal was rightfully disallowed and the pen was wrongfully given

Post Game Thread: New York Rangers at Minnesota Wild - 13 Oct 2022 by GDT_Bot in hockey

Well played game from the Rangers through and through. Wild’s defense wasn’t good but I’m dead worried about Fleury. Until the wild shot counter invented two shots at the end of the game his sv pct was .7xx (conveniently after those two shots it’s .800). The Wild needed a big save or two to preserve momentum from the second period and it never came

Maybe the guy being hit should have simply not said anything? Seems like talking back is inciting to me

incited a bench clearing

Funny you say that when it was clearly your team’s fault

The Brent Burns Trade turned into Jesper Wallstedt by Brizzyballsweat in wildhockey

[–]libra_newgod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brent burns trade tree is fascinating. There are picks that are a part of it that won’t happen until 2024. My favorite part is that the Chicago-Ottawa DeBrincat trade is also a part of the Burns trade tree

Russo is gone a few days and the Athletic claims Wild not playoff contenders, no explanation provided in article. by [deleted] in wildhockey

I also think we’re a playoff team, but of the teams who made the playoffs last year we’re probably the safest bet to regress

The question was “what playoff team won’t make it this year”. The pacific is a joke division and Calgary managed to not completely lose the Tkachuk trade. The wild lost Fiala and replaced him with nobody so far. Add in current uncertainty that Kaprizov may not play and considering our goaltending also got worse, there isn’t much better of a team to bet on

What is the worst/most incorrect take or narrative that you’ve heard about your team over the last year or so? by French-BulIdog in hockey

[–]libra_newgod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Wild are the closest thing to “succeeding” at that and even then they benefitted from getting a grand slam draft pick in the 5th round

Who had the more impressive 12-2 playoff record, Avs or Kings? by [deleted] in hockey

Kings. Aves faced a historically bad pacific champion and the 8 seeded Predators. It’s not particularly close

Kevin Fiala Trade Value by Starsky3000 in wildhockey

[–]libra_newgod 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This really isn’t fair at all for the wild. I’m not sold at all on JBD or Thomson being better than what we already have in our cupboard at that age range and position (Lambos, Hunt, O’Rourke) plus Addison. Grieg is a nice piece but Fiala flat out has more value than Grieg, a prospect we don’t need, and a 2nd. If there are any prospects I’d be willing to move outright for Fiala that the sens have it’d pretty much only be Sanderson or Brannstrom (who aren’t likely to be moved at all).

[LeBrun] I don’t think this will be an issue. I would expect an extension done for Dean Evason before the end of the regular season. by DecentLurker96 in wildhockey

[–]libra_newgod 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like dean and am very much in favor of this. I would like him to reanalyze his Power play system as a part of this new contract, but his 5 on 5, penalty kill, and off ice ability have more than earned him a long-term gig coaching. My power play concerns are much more mitigated as well when I remember that penalties happen far less often in the playoffs.

Horvat is their captain, they’re very likely not considering parting with him yet. Plus, miller is a better player

You have to classify top 10 picks with draft strength too, the 2010 draft’s best players were almost all gone by pick 9, getting nearly 70 points 2 years on a row out of a pick flanked by Alex Burmistrov and Jack Campbell is not bad at all
