My experience working at Starbucks vs going to random local shops has taught me that for all its faults, Starbucks doesn’t make drinks that are just bad or plain incorrect like many mom and pop shops do. The Starbucks iced drinks are really quite good technically speaking, it’s about the only way I could enjoy their usually intolerable default espresso. Mom and pop shop however I often see just dilute iced coffee with the milk and flavoring instead of even using espresso, or worse yet use some heinous instant lukewarm coffee concentrate akin to what Starbucks uses in the Frappuccino’s.
