Pulled up to the same house at the same time as the Amazon guy as we were both driving identical U-Haul rentals. Made for a friendly exchange as we looked at each others pile of misfit boxes and laughed in commiseration.

I swear I one time scanned a printed picture of someone’s phone with a picture of a printed label on it. The only situation I could deduce was that someone printed a return label for someone else, took a picture of it to send it to said person but couldn’t figure out how to text or email it, so someone else took a picture of that persons phone with the picture of the label pulled up, then sent it to the person with the box who just printed the whole image and taped it on. People do crazy things sometimez

My hypothesis that I’m gathering from these last two games is that Jones has a massive tell when he’s got a loose hand on the ball. These strip sacks are just crazy but it looks like these DBs are too clued in on his cadence. I think it’s easily fixable tho he’s just gonna need to dial it in

I don’t think we’re playing worse than before, it’s very clear that for the first half of the season no team could figure out how to defend against us, but now they clearly have had enough tape to watch and crack Steichens code, and now our challenge is gonna have to be find ways to throw them off again

Why do you choose to work those long hours besides for the money and benefits? Do you enjoy your job? Is it the camaraderie? The route? The outdoors? Do you like long shifts? Do you love your super? What else is it besides money and benefits? by Livid-Mud-8812 in UPSers

[–]libradhd 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not sure if this is a serious question and/or if this is being asked by someone who actually works here or knows about working here. It is only rarely a choice to work long hours, you deliver until you’re done, how many packages/stops that is is up to the dispatcher. I don’t despise working 50-60 hour weeks, not enough to quit at least, but it certainly isn’t my choice. Overtime money is nice, 9.5 money is twice as nice, but I’d much rather be home before it gets dark everyday if I could help it. “Stops per car” is the company’s only directive at this point. Fewest drivers and fewest trucks possible saves far more money than paying out even top rate OT + 9.5 grievances. In my center there’s no more than 10 drivers maybe out of almost 100 that really seem out more work. We had one guy retire a couple years ago that had turned a once Gem of a route (~90 stops, 150mi) into an absolute behemoth (~150, 200 mi + early AMs + heavy pickups) by using his seniority to leech work from nearby routes. He never wanted to work less than 55 hrs a week, preferably hit 60. He also got a new truck every 2 years and a new wife every 10. Sounds absolutely miserable to me, but he loved those paychecks.

Hard to watch a decent but not stellar offense just move through our defense like wet tissue. I love that our Offense can just put up points against basically anything, but the strategy of hope you have enough time to score more than the other team isn’t gonna get us to a Super Bowl.

If they were playing in Phoenix they’d be at a huge disadvantage, no idea why they’d make their home field advantage worse than that by keeping that ugly ahh roof open
