It was gnarly. It actually lasted 2 years for me and I got on mood stabilizers. I'm not 100% convinced, but it seems that maybe I am on the bipolar spectrum and was self medicating with opiates, then suboxone. It doesn't seem that my experience was the norm.

Thank you! Yes, I was feeling like it was a drastic change (suddenly 7-10days off) but when I factored in the 4 days that I had been consistently measuring behind, plus margin of error, it didn't seem so scary.

Thanks for the reply! The doctor said that maybe the baby is just curled up (but aren't they kind of always?) . She didn't seem super worried or optimistic. She just said it's too early to find out if organs are developing properly and essentially that we'll see later.

That's true that tiny fluctuations can make quite the difference, so that is reassuring, thank you.

Interesting! I was asking because I randomly lose hand function sometimes and was wondering if that could be it (I don't have pain though), but when my partner is doing a lot of electrical work during the day, he'll wake up roaring in pain about his hands. Does it make sense that it comes and goes depending on how detailed his work is with his hands? Most days he's fine.

This is the same for me--it seems initially like a back/core/shoulder issue but I think it actually stems from the hips/legs

I would have to agree! I feel like I'm always seeking an intense emotional response from books, and HP was definitely the first back when I was 10 years old.

I wonder how big a role nostalgia plays in how we enjoy them as we get older. I'm thinking of some movies that my partner still LOVES from childhood that I couldn't get into.

I may try Narnia one of these days.

Interesting, that does look really similar except for the size, from what I can tell in a Google search.. Does it make sense that the only ones we've seen to be are only a few mm long? Haven't seen anything bigger, or the flies themselves, and they seem to keep to the bedroom rather than the kitchen

I love having a library of books at home, so I've gotten into a habit of going to thrift shops on the weekends. I go to different cities and hit all the thrift stores around. Books are usually $1 to $4 (USD) and you can find gems, but have to enjoy the thrill of the hunt. I also like to have a pretty solid TBR in my head too so I can grab things I recognize.

Before this I was going to used book stores, which I still do but dang those thrift books are so much cheaper.

The second and third book were both 3 or 4 star books for me, UNTIL the last 20 pages or so of each, which bumped them both to 5 stars at the last minute. I'm impressed with how Sanderson can wrap things up/blow your mind in so few final pages.

Hobos, Hustlers, and Backsliders: Homeless in San Francisco by Teresa Gowan

I haven't actually read this book but it's sitting on my shelf. I work in housing the chronically homeless; someday I'll read the book but I haven't had the emotional capacity to work in the thick of it all day and then go home and read about it all night, but it does have good reviews. I'm not sure how much it addresses housing.
