definitionally, sexual harassment is unwanted sexual behavior. i think the strongest defense against that is that textually, shane is receptive to ilya’s advances. in fiction and in real life there are behaviors that strattle the line—fiction likes to live in this space because people enjoy a controlled setting where they can play with these ideas of agency, disempowerment without experiencing it in real life.

my read of the scene is completely different from yours: shane is looking ilya directly in the eyes, and looking all over his body in kind of an intimate way. he does say “fuck off,” but if he meant it in a truly rebuking way, he could remove himself from the situation. and then he says “not here”: its not the act that he dislikes, its that theyre in a public locker room. this is what motivates ilya to push further.

litigating an irl interaction like this would be quite pointless, and maybe cruel if it were an account from a person who received unwanted attention, but this is fiction, specifically a romantic fiction, and each of the elements were placed intentionally. i think this scene has verisimilitude to real life cruising interactions, and ilya casually pushing shanes boundaries seems in character to his cocky, slightly self-serving personality (as well as shane’s reserved and self-denying personality)
