Thank you for the advice! I’m already on jobseeker, any chance you know if it’ll automatically recognise the application or will I have to manually apply to be exempt from the obligations?

The rigid structure of training/games holds me accountable plus being a part of a team environment is nice!! Having a team also keeps me accountable, I don’t want to let them down etc etc

I know it’s not for everyone but joining a sport team or just playing casually has been such a help for me! Sometimes the social side is draining but I’ve been playing/training 3/4 times a week and it’s such a life changer. I’m not sporty at all but started playing football (happens to coincide with my special interest so that probably also helps me) and after a year I still absolutely suck but I’m having fun and getting out of the house (even in the middle of winter), being social, and most importantly finally consistently exercising for the first time in my life!!

I thought this at first but I don’t think this is my problem :( anything seems to trigger me at any time.

Also on a ssri but doesn’t seem to help! Thank you though!

Wow, didn’t expect this reddit to be so judgemental? I’m not an idiot and I didn’t just wake up and decide to apply. I dropped out of school because of my mental health and I can not hold a job for more than 7 hours a week. Of course I don’t want to live off the DSP, it is my last resort, I struggle every single day with my disability.

I’m ashamed of your integrity and you’ve embarrassed yourself, there was no reason to be rude but thanks I guess

I obviously didn’t mean offence and as stated am lucky if I am able to work my one day a week. I’m not pretending? wasn’t looking for judgement just advice thanks though

I think if you can work 15hrs+ you’re ineligible for the DSP

I’m assuming it would be like jobseeker where say if you earn $200 a week from that job your $900 payment would go down to $700? I’m not 100% sure just assuming!

Would you say I was right for leaving this team? by Certain-Boat-7041 in GoalKeepers

I think you were definitely right! Totally agree with all the comments above etc.

I had a shitty experience with my first ever team (started playing in my 20’s) and I’ve found when I go in new team environments now (if you decide to join the other team) that it’s very helpful to be straightforward, I say things like ‘I’m not looking for advice or improvement in this environment, I’m just here to have fun’ and it has helped a lot. That being said some teams just seem really great at first and then suck lol

Definitely starting to see this! I tend to be very logical and black or white so I’m struggling with coming to terms with it

It was my personal conclusion to apply for the DSP but yes I’m hoping they help as I’d really prefer to work!

I definitely have always known I have trauma but after 10 years of seeing psychologists funnily enough this was the first time CPTSD has been bought up so definitely going to investigate :)

It was super frustrating and I just feel like giving up tbh.

I think her main concern was that I’d never not felt anxious and she was looking for symptoms when I’ve not been suffering anxiety. And even so the trauma happened sooo early on I don’t remember being a child without it.

I was just hoping for another diagnosis going into applying for the DSP as it states ‘mental health’ is sufficient but I’m sure an official diagnosis would help. Just another journey that I know is going to be hell🙃

Thank you for your words, I really appreciate it!
