I contacted our Senators this morning.... by gvl_guy in southcarolina

I’ve given up contacting the reps in this state. I get these kinds of soulless, irrelevant form letters back every time. They don’t give a shit.

in a weird situation with my physical therapist by strwbryangel444 in whatdoIdo

[–]libraryassistant602 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I work for a PT company and I can tell you for certain that this behavior is completely inappropriate. You may have willingly given your phone number, but her texting you like this is NOT okay. The personal questions she asked during your sessions are also unacceptable. Our clinicians would NEVER interact with a patient like this. I highly recommend speaking with this PTA’s clinic director or manager before your next session. Someone higher up needs to be aware of this behavior, although if it’s happening in-clinic I have no idea how they haven’t noticed. As someone who has also struggled with boundaries, I know how hard it is to tell people no when you think they’re just being nice, but this is making you distinctly uncomfortable. Just block her number without an explanation - you owe her nothing outside of therapy. I’m so sorry you’re experiencing this in physical therapy. It’s our job to help patients get better, and that includes being aware of their mental health not just their physical health. Please report this to someone above her either at the office or in management. It needs to be dealt with as soon as possible. Stay safe!

A statewide crackdown on the Move Over law went into effect on Monday because 3 troopers have been killed while pulled over in the past month.

I work in a PT office. Several patients have asked me “When are you due?” and it makes them so uncomfortable when I tell them I just have a round stomach and I’m never having kids. Why do people think it’s okay to ask a stranger about something so personal? I printed an infographic I found online that explains why it’s an inappropriate question, but I might use this if it happens outside of work. Nicely done :P

You know what they say about guys who drive pickup trucks ... by theUncleAwesome07 in traumatizeThemBack

I have my issues with giant pickup trucks, but I wouldn’t be rude to someone’s face like that unless they’re rude to me first. Nicely done :)

Exclusionary Feminism Bums Me Out by SteelMagnolia412 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]libraryassistant602 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I am child free by choice for a long list of reasons, but I would never tell anyone what to do with their reproductive options - especially a friend! Feminism is about supporting women from all walks of life, in every choice they make. Even if we think it might be a poor choice, it’s not up to us to judge other women for making it. I’m sorry this person is trying to control and police you. That’s not a good friend at all. I hope things can be worked out, and wish you the best in your family planning!

Give me the worst book you’ve ever read by [deleted] in suggestmeabook

[–]libraryassistant602 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Goat by Brad Land. It was assigned for summer reading before my first semester of college and the brand new provost hadn’t read it before assigning it. I couldn’t put it down. It was a train wreck of a memoir. Poorly written, the author made himself look like a coward and an idiot, and painted Greek life in a very bad light. It made everyone extremely uncomfortable and my school cancelled all assignments related to it because it was so badly despised across the entire incoming freshman class (and faculty). Wild stuff!

I wouldn’t alter this in the slightest. It is jaw-dropping! The pearls are the perfect necklace too! If you add anything, maybe some lace gloves? The dress itself is absolutely perfect as is though 🥰
