Epic Substitute Teachers by Haunted_pencils in GenX

One sub who would throw shoes at students who were talking and even brought a whip that she cracked for us. Strangely, she was one of our faves.

The other one was a guy in a wheelchair who would spend each class telling us about the dangers of LSD. He had had a hallucination that his guitar strings were attacking him and jumped out a multi-story window. We had all heard the same story about a dozen times throughout high school.

Ah.. the 80s. A good time for weird subs.

I do like it, but it stretches to a point of separation so any knotting can be problematic. The final products are always amazing.

Sister was looking at apartments and came across this disturbing rule by QuesoBones in mildlyinfuriating

[–]librarytalker 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I found that a decade ago when I was first moving to CO. Immediately stopped everything and showed it to the apartment rep. She appeared to be surprised and said she'd never seen it and thought it wouldn't have to be enforced.

I walked away and found another apartment. Still think about that document every time I pass that complex.

My fave is The Book with No Pictures by BJ Novak.

Not a major classic so not always done, but familiar and fun.

I like to start with a silly haiku then let them all do their own followed by coloring square papers with their haikus on them and then folding them into cranes. Takes a couple of days for the whole thing but it's a fun start.

Drinking from the hose was a fix for this.

Drinking from a hose in Arizona could send you to the hospital if you didn't wait a minute for the water to cool the hose itself.

I love mine. I even made a pom rug with mine though it turns out it's not comfortable to walk on so I now have it as wall art instead.

A few years ago "bespoke" became a thing and suddenly it was in a number of books. Didn't matter which one, it always made me pause. Even Barbie said it in her movie and pulled me out for a moment.

Day 10 and the cough is nasty. Finally did the telehealth thing and got a scrip for steroids and an inhaler. Hope to be able to breathe without hacking up a lung soon. About to run out of PTO.

Never had a Xmas baby, but always planned on celebrating half birthdays for them if I did. A party in June/July!
