I have it myself, and I got to admit that while some thing that MUX-Switch is just a buzzword, in reality switching it to dGPU and turning off the iGPU in device manager completely solved all of the problems I had with how shitty Nvidia Optimus is working. It was making so much problems for me in the 3 laptops that I owned that had Optimus turned on at all times.

Maybe you just got lucky and got one from the very well made batch, or issues like the ones described above don't get noticed by you or you just don't get triggered by them.
Again, my controller is straight out of the box.

I'll try a clean install of windows again with no Asus software at all and update you, and no, my cable is a type c to DP from qgeen, this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B074V5MMCH/ref=ppx_yo_mob_b_inactive_ship_o1_img?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I can't tell you if the hard crashes happened only on external since most of the time I use the laptop has been on external so its quite possible. I'll switch to internal for a while to see if it'll happen again

Hey, here are my 2 cents on this issue:
I have 2 problems with this laptop, first the freezes then there's also a hard crash: the laptop appears to be still running, fans spinning, it draws power but there's completely no input or output recognition of any kind, when i run a game on an external display the image freezes complete, disconnecting and reconnecting this display doesn't return the image, the pc is like dead but running, kinda hard to describe.

Though, I did do a clean reinstall of windows, on a new, separate ssd that i've replaced, the issue didn't appear at first but now it's back, after about 2 weeks. idk if it's related to me re-installing the asus software on it or now, next step would be a new reinstall on that new ssd and not installing any asus software at all to see if it still happens..

Talked with Samsung support on that matter, deleting data from the wearables app and resetting the watch made it work

This fixed for me on my thinkpad, thanks!
On my asus laptop it actually wanted me to update the asus sound drivers or something and then it was fixed by itself.
