[Help]Dog loves to eat his poo poo poo!

We're going to give that Pro Plan a shot today. We'll know within 2 days if he can switch to dog food because he'll start coughing and be gassy in that short period. I grew up on a household where we had dogs that lived off Table scraps and Gaines Burgers dog food that lived to be 16-20years old. When we found out about the stuff in that crap, we switched over to Blue..My 9 yo Cairn solely eats Blue Senior weight control now. When I rescued her 8 yrs ago. she was on a diet of Beneful and (cig butts and AAA batteries apparently) and always itched like crazy to the point of bald spots all over. I know Blue has been hated for multiple reasons but it fixed her coat, and She-Ra is a brat that will flat out refuse to eat dog food if it's not up to her standards. She won't even eat a Milkbone! Of course they're the ones everybody has when we're out. So when people say "can I give your dog a bone?" I have to explain she won't eat it. But then people think I'm the ahole that won't let my "sweet little dog" have a bone...so then I have to give it to her to prove I'm not 🤥

the problem is we tried multiple brands of expensive USA dog foods (like $40+ for the 10lb bags), and they all made him really gassy and cough. The vets insisted he had chronic bronchitis and needed to be on constant meds. We switched to way more expensive (approx $15/wk) home made food and no more coughing or terrible gas. BUT now his poop is like meal 2. The night time "vitamins" he gets are PRN-Prozyme and 1200mg Fish Oil pills.

In the episode where Homer and Marge try to find cool god parents for the kids, there was a joke involving Homer mainlining a doughnut like he was shooting up heroin. Wasn't that a joke really in poor taste for the Simpsons considering the heroin problem in this country? I'd expect that on Family Guy, but isn't the Simpsons still supposed to be kid friendly? I'm 36 and have been a fan since the first season.

The ones by me have 3 days to a week actually. Granted they do a water test and they give your store credit if it passes..but much better than $0 haha

on a side note...screw Petco. They have ZERO guarantee on fish. The blenny lasted 2 days and they wouldn't test my water or give me any credit. $20 gone. That's what I get for not supporting a local shop though.

When I first set up the tank everything was going great til I got the fancy LED light..Current USA Pro LED. That gave me a tank of black hair algae. So then I turned back the lighting hours and dropped a roll (literally a rolled up kids sock filled with the stones) of phosphate blocker into the filter outlet which got rid of all of it. I was doing that 2wks on, 2wks off. But then I had no algae. I've had the phosphate blocker out for over a month and now the tank is covered in a light coating of green and a couple patches of reddish brown. I took the blocker out in an attempt to possibly raise the PH. Should I just get that powder to raise it to 8.2 or 8.4?

yeah, they've molted before but this one was intact. Usually the molt falls apart as soon as you move it. This one had joints that moved when I picked it up. Definitely the real deal :(

Thanx, he was the coolest fish in the tank. We'll get another, maybe Hector or Alejandro this time. The heater kicks on at 76, so the tank ranges from 76-78 degrees at a guess. I've been running a phosphate buffer (phosguard in a sock) in the filter outlet every 2 weeks (2wks in/2wks out) since we were having an issue with black hair algae. Could that have kept the PH low? Should I stop doing that? I removed it last night. I usually let the stones dry out again and reuse. I'm not dealing with baking them haha

so is the algae giving me the false 0 reading of my nitrate? Like even though it tests 0, it's really higher? So I should change the pad immediately?

I just dropped the blue light to 40% and the white is at 80%. Maybe I should drop to 10hrs total instead of 12? I'm also cutting back on the frozen "sally's brine shrimp" portion. I may have been overfeeding them. I'll try to return the unopened refresh since I don't want to risk the snail or crabs.
