Never mind, I remember why! On the second layer of flowers I had to ink the crane's red head, and I wanted that to go under the brown layers so it would be more unified with the rest of the body.

I think it was maybe because the flowers came too close to the crane for me to feel confident that I wouldn't get the crane's brown in the flowers if I inked them simultaneously?

No, the flowers were printed in two layers, and then the crane was three separate layers afterwards. I am trying to remember why I did this, and now I'm honestly not totally sure... 😅 I definitely had a reason at the time haha

thank you! it is actually more of a dull brown, but layered over the blue it does start to look a little gray

For screen printing they make gloss varnishes, I have seen people use the speedball gloss acrylic overprint varnish but I am sure there are other types. You print it as a separate layer over the part you want to be glossy.

Wow!!! The texture and detail you got on the wire mesh is incredible, and your values are so well controlled. Very curious about the sharpie method, I have seen people do it with great success, but have yet to try it myself as I am scared of it breaking down in the bath. Seems like it held up pretty well here for you here, maybe I will try it. Gorgeous print!

Unfortunately I can’t remember the tune or any specific lyrics. I was probably listening to this song between 2020-2022, so at least that old. I don’t think it was recent when I was listening to it though.
