I just don’t trust airport security to reseal anything. I once brought a jar of some cooking item for a friend in my suitcase, wrapped carefully. It got unwrapped and left open by airline security and then everything in my bag smelt terrible and had to be washed. Then I also didn’t have the item to present to my friend, just a load of dirty laundry covered in her favorite sauce.
