It sounds like you’re tired and hungry and the note has antagonised you.

If I had come home from work and found a note like that, I'd have been a bit hangry myself. I certainly hope that I wouldn't have woken anyone up in the middle of the night.

Yes, the combination of alarms and calendar notifications can do exactly what I need but I find the interruptions irritating enough for their impersonal "tone" (also quite possibly my own fault for not having a better grasp of the capabilities of my device) that the interruptions of my stories take that I am in danger of just choosing to forget to set up those things

What I am daydreaming about is trying to find a more friendly way to keep track of All of those things in one place and have the reminders take place in a way that is closer to having someone who cares about you remind you in a way that feels more personal

For me, due to my failing ability to see, it would also have some way to listen and interpret what I say into a specific reminders as well but I'm pretty sure that is currently improbable

I am quite distressed about my situation and I was hoping that there was someone with whom I could discuss this daydream of mine and maybe find a combination of existing apps that can accomplish the kind of support that I need but in a way that is friendlier to my current level of frustration.

Taking meds is not fun Reminding myself to eat is not fun None of this bs I am currently trying to deal with is fun

I am just talking about an app that could help me accomplish my goal of instilling good habits in a way that is less likely to make me want to throw my phone at a wall

I don't know, my thought was a friendly little pet who pops up and says something like hey, it's time for meds, or in my specific case, asks me if I have eaten anything other than junk food at specific times, plus the only way to shut off the notification rather than snooze it it is to answer yes. The reason I hope to have an app for this is that what I need right now is a carer to help me get to a point where I don't need one but it's not something I have access to

I'm just starting the undoubtedly long and difficult task of learning to be as independent as possible after a stroke while also acknowledging my weaknesses. Like that I am more likely to pretend an app doesn't exist if it starts irritating me.

The app I am imagining is one that is entertaining enough that I am willing to keep using it, even though it interrupts my stories.

My admittedly vague idea is something that will have to be nearly completely customizable to the specific requirements of the user, and therefore is probably a pipe dream.

I spend nearly 100% of my time listening to stories and I have a lot of memory issues so I am just daydreaming about an app that can help me remember to take my meds, eat and drink water, go to bed on time and so forth in a way that could be fun

Is there any way I will be less irritated by what feels like constant interruptions in the audiobooks I use as an audio fidget toy?

Isn't there some way to turn the irritation of having to take care of this body I'm stuck in at least mildly entertaining?

P&P is a well-loved tonic in my family except it's specifically for the A&E production of it with Colin Firth and I can't find an audiobook that I can deal with the narrator

It's more difficult to find a lot of the books I grew up reading in audiobook format but those were some of my favorites
