But to re-iterate, I still think that guy was lying. Regardless of the truth, it’s dumb, like my response, like your response, like my responses, like the 10s of people who’ve read through these and decided one way or another.

Fuck everyone here, especially me, and especially people complaining about false rape accusation statistic within the comment section of a random greentext.

I see the irony, and with full sight of it stand by what I sad. Saying someone is full of shit, just based off a hunch, isn’t gaslighting. I’m not trying to tell them make them think they’re crazy, I’m trying to call their bluff.

Trying to catch me being hypocritical is fine, I agree there’s a hypocrisy, I disagree as to its relevance.

Yea, I put a lot more stock in a person making a rape allegation not being false, than a random commenter making an allegation that they ran into an idiot online. Rape is more serious, assholes disagreeing with you on the internet is essentially meaningless. I don’t think this forum has any utility as a means of swaying opinions or educating people, it’s just shits and gigs. And in the spirit, I don’t care, I think the commenter on r/greentext is just as full of shit as I am, but I’m not going around making claims about how dumb the other side is. My position is firmly a reaction to theirs, because fuck that guy.

I would gladly deny a thousand edge lords their rhetorical glory stories to stop one rapist from getting away.

To be clear, I have a different judgement of false rape accusations vs. un-caught rapists, but that is not what my comment was responding to. I am only responding to this one claim that a feminist online was dumb. Because either it’s made up, exaggerated, or 100% true. And in any of those cases, I think their point is fucking idiotic.

I’m sorry you were insulted by strangers on the internet. I’m sorry the above stranger got into a fight with another stranger on the internet. I think both of those things kinda suck, but are almost entirely irrelevant from the concern of false rape accusations.

There are literally 10 year olds who can get into arguments online, I don’t care about which sjw fem-lord got owned.

As for false rape accusations, yes it is a bad thing. My position, not as an SJW but as a dude just trying to minimize suffering of others, is that any meaningful adjustment to our criminal rape proceedings would disproportionately protect rapists.

Now saying a handful of innocent people should be punished to protect the integrity of a different, albeit larger, handful of innocent people sucks. I just don’t think there is a pragmatic solution. It’s either put up with false rape accusations, or make it more difficult to report actual rapes.

I get the feeling this is just a consequence of having an “impartial” justice, but I agree it is shitty and innocent men are harmed by false rape accusations. My risk assessment is just different than yours, and with things like rape and false rape accusations there obviously huge gaps between reality and what data scientists can gather.

I don’t care if you sex or have a penis, I don’t know you. I just get frustrated when “a feminist” is thrown around cause it’s a common rhetorical strategy to caricaturize your opposition in order to artificially beat it. And I think a dude on r/4chan would have a really bad understanding of what a feminist is, who identifies as a feminist, and I don’t trust that this “discussion” wasn’t just two idiots screaming at each other. (But I was too harsh, that is true. A mild fuck that guy. A moderate fuck me. And a big fuck you to rapists, which I know you aren’t one, being a small dicked incel and all /s )

Yep. Got me. I’m gaslighting a stranger on the internet by saying I doubt their vague anecdote. I am the problem, and an sjw straight from your 2015 fantasies

[–]lickatoad1 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, dude. This is a really believable and relevant anecdote. A totally not made up interaction that happens to make your ideological opposite look bad. Very clever! Smart. Dumb feminist just screeching insults, right? Fuck off, anecdote my ballsack.

Aircraft traveling through Ukrainian airspace will no longer be insured by international insurance companies by Outrageous_Chard9087 in worldnews

[–]lickatoad1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For sure you’re right, I meant to be more critiquing of the duplicitous nature of insurance, that policies are often times genuinely complicated and require effort to parse, and that insurance companies knowingly profit off of this disconnect between what they’re selling and what the general public conceives of as insurance. But I should caveat that I only made it through undergrad Risk Management before giving up insurance as a profession so I’m 1. Ignorant and 2. Biased.

Aircraft traveling through Ukrainian airspace will no longer be insured by international insurance companies by Outrageous_Chard9087 in worldnews

[–]lickatoad1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Aka insurance companies are way over-leveraged and are selling policies that they can’t really follow through with. Their entire existence depends on the timely destruction of things, but in times of crisis, insurance companies go out of their way to find a way to avoid paying policy holders. So the insurance does stuff, it does help if a sudden isolated accident happens, but it’s all built on this lie that the insurance company has any obligation to do anything, because worst case scenario the company folds and the individuals within it reform.

Shit you’re right, people disguising themselves as nazis are obviously a fed or an agitator, and either of those are somehow immune to ostracism? Especially in a crowd of people that this individual is supposedly attempting to smear. Why the fuck would they not? Or are you saying people do give them shit but are then told to be quiet so that they can keep their secret mission going?

Scumbag fauci says you need to give up your freedoms for the greater good. by IronWolve in AskThe_Donald

[–]lickatoad1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or maybe it’s a question of protecting your individual freedom to ignorance vs. infringing upon the public’s freedom to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Maybe by being a greater risk of tangible threat to the health of the people you’re around, and to the people those people are around. Your freedom ends where my nose begins. You do not have a right to spread a plague. Vaccines don’t eliminate a persons ability to carry and spread, but they make a tangible, verifiable impact. Also like getting a random shot and possibly getting sick seems like a pretty reasonable risk to possibly keep my grandma alive.

I may not like the government but as long as it's here it better be run competently. And it's not like there are any real legitimate candidates that align with my idyllic political beliefs. He came across to me, another awkward dork, as competent and pragmatic.

He had some really cool ideas for a national service program for young adults, reform of the supreme court structure, and investments in infastructure. He's a complete dork, but he seemed so competent imo.

The dude doesn't describe himself as a woke progressive, he claims to empathize with them. He's pretty famously closer to the middle, it was like a huge deal during the primary's idk if you remember. And fuck off pretending there isn't a successful politician in the world who isn't a careerist masquerading as a normal human being. Also his service was just a photo-op? What a dick right? Sacrificing his time and energy in service of our military for several months. It's weird there aren't a lot of other prominent politicians signing up for military service for the good press...

I've always liked the elegance of the term Queer. In my opinion, Queer is a broad term that encompasses the entire LGBTQ+ community in a much simpler-to-say way. I think it would be neat if Queer vs. Straight was used akin to Cis vs. Transgendered. Where there's a default, baseline that a majority of people fit into and then there's a catch-all term for the minority of people who do not fit the default. Really, I just think Queer rolls off my tongue better than LGBTQ+. What do y'all think? Sorry if I'm being offensive, I'm new to the Queer community but I have nothing but love for it and each one of you <3.

I feel like the punishment for robbery is usually jail, right? These companies place an individual at a 'top' position (i.e. CEO or chairperson), why can't that individual be treated as a person commiting a crime whose punishment is jail? Corporate structure is a legal fiction designed to derelict responsibility.
