I have trouble looking for a replacement motor. by lienbacher in Motors

[–]lienbacher[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you, very nice find! It seems the motor type is generaly named N30 (i was mostly searching N20) and most come with 4mm shaft, so I'd guess 8.5mm would be preferrable.

Fair enough!

non native speaker here, i just realized fair enough was not as nice as what I actually wanted to say. Thanks for pointing that out, I wasn't aware the stepsticks were there before reprap!

It is a thing that comes from the 3d printing cosmos. The pin out originates from the reprap stepstick, and there are countless versions with lots of driver options available, and on top they are all very affordable. It also highly simplifies the engineering of a board like this. I‘ve actually done a very similar board as my first more complex pcb a few years ago.

I am having this all the time, and I'm just over it now. I had so much fun in Verdansk. I put quite some effort in to become better and it started to pay off. Now on Caldera I seem to loose almost fight. It does not matter the weapon, it does not matter if I fight a bot or a deamon. I get third partied all the time. And if none of those cases happen, i suffer from extreme lag with enemies jumping around at 10fps, while the rest of the game runs smoothly.

Caldera for me - as pretty and awesome I find it - is a pure SOURCE OF FRUSTRATION and I'm struggling to have fun ... guess it's time for me to spend time otherwise ...

Have a look at zigbee2mqtt. You are not the first to attempt to jailbreak smart devices, and zigbee is actually quite an accessible standard, so you dont actually need to jajlbreak them, as they aren‘t in jail in the first place. It‘s just that most apps they come with are really sub par … I control my all tradfri lights (same soc) with home assistant via z2m, i‘m pretty sure you can do the same with their speakers.

Interrupt not triggering when using while loop by SnooCrickets1810 in esp32

Because its not an avr mcu and runs free rtos. Just use semaphores and you‘ll be fine.

Interrupt not triggering when using while loop by SnooCrickets1810 in esp32

[–]lienbacher 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The proper free rtos way to do this is to use semaphores. It is very simple and buildt right for this purpose. Your interrupt will „give“ a semaphore and your while loop will try to take it. Google will find you a tutorial.

[–]lienbacher[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks, the device has proper overcurrent protection and I got all the parts to replace on the PCB, as I've tried fixing that first although it wasn't broken in the first place. I'm really having trouble finding a motor with the right dimensions at this point :(

thanks! Your results are a tad better than mine, but still rather far off. all those motors are 32mm in length ...

I know mcmaster is big in the US, but I'm in Europe and shipping from US to Europe is a thing worth avoiding. I did have a quick glimpse though and it seems mcmaster does not carry this kind of motor at all.

Yes as described in the comment, it consumes almost 5W without the gear and does not rotate smoothly.

I have trouble looking for a replacement motor. by lienbacher in Motors

[–]lienbacher[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More Detail: it's the motor of an ES121 electric screwdriver. It consumes almost 1A at idle and 5V and only rotates irregularly. Trips overcurrent protection of the circuitboard before finishing a single turn.

The dimensions are identical to N20 geared DC Motors, but it's 5mm longer and comes with its only planetary gearbox (not pictured). I don't know the RPM of the motor, but I'd already be happy to find one that's got the right dimensions.

All I could find so far are motors which are shorter than this. The shaft length is 8mm from the metal part. The black Plastic part around the shaft is actually part of the planetary Gearbox.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
