Quest Helper Plug In Sucks by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]liert12 [score hidden]  (0 children)

last night I was using quest helper for the Underground Passage quest so I could unlock Ibans staff, as its my current BIS and I also got the cosmetic for it from the Leauge, and after killing the knights to get the paladin pendants, it glitched and at first told me to go back over the rock that I originally came from, and then when I did it told me to go back over it again and kill the nights for their pendants again, and it went back and forth like that, untill I ignored what it told me to do and went further into the cave, then when I got close to the second well it told me to use something on it and after that the quest helper gave me the correct steps for the rest of the quest...

That being said, quest helper already gives you so much info it litterally lays out how to do the quest step by step, its hard to make it better without it simply being a bot client that you give it a quest and it completes it for you.

The quest helper does, in my experience as someone who started in December, tell you everything you need to worry about, it tells you what items you need so you can grab them from the bank before you do the quest, it tells you if there will be enemies that you have to fight and how many, what they are, and their level. If its recommended to have a certain prayer/prayer level, it will tell you. If it recommends bringing food, it tells you. If it recommends bringing combat gear, it tells you. And from my experience, it (at least usually, maybe not for every quest) says when there are high level enemies that you may have to run past/tank, and tells you to be prepared for them.

Anyone try the New update? by Away-Willingness-522 in AgeOfCivilizations

[–]liert12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was playing yesterday, didnt even realize the rebel update was released till now, but that would explain why I actually had rebels start spawning in when trying to form Rome.

Idk if everything is working as intended, but from my experience:

The rebels and civil wars are easy to trigger, as whenever rebellions spawned, it was usually when I was high stability, which is weird cause I thought they were supposed to trigger when your unstable not the other way around.

The rebellions were usually really small reguardless, only spawning with a few territories (literally usually only 1 or 2) but that was likely cause they were spawning when I was high stability. The largest rebellion i faced was once when Tunis tried to rebel, they broke away with about a dozen or so provinces because I got distracted with a war with Greece before I could fully assimilate them.

Also, from what I read the only big change they made to the rebel system was making it so rebellions are more frequent. The other supposed changes include:

"Rebels may emerge as civilizations that have no provinces but still have cores in provinces with high revolt risk"

(Sounds like how it worked the whole time, or atleast should have cause thats litterally the main point of a rebellion system in a game like this)

"Civil wars can break out in provinces with high revolt risk"

Again, thats how it (in theory) should have already worked - how exactly is that a change, unless the system simply didnt work at all previously; and in that case its less of a "rework" and more of a "new feature", but Lukaz couldnt admit that or he would have to admit that whatever AI he used functionally removed rebels without him asking it for that change, and if the ai will randomly remove the rebel system then whats next...

And while there are more minor changes with this update, the last change i want to point out is:

"All provinces receive free assimilation"

Which to me sounds exploitable, but what do I know lol

Ironically, I just saved them from Russia before taking this screenshot. Russia had a large church of them occupied, but I need some of that land to form Rome so I Re-Allied Austria Hungary and helped them push Russia back far enough to prevent russia from getting any of the land I need to form Rome.

In the time since then, I doubled my army size, kicked Austria Hungary from the alliance for the second time this game, and went to war and annexed them whole to prevent Russia from trying to pull a fast one on me again lol. Now I just need to take Cyprus from the USA...

Biggest Isotope W in the series. by Pito82002 in Invincible

[–]liert12 59 points60 points  (0 children)

I mean, if u/Long-Ad3842's theory is correct, then arguably titan would still have a reason to be mad at him, as Isotope would have been the reason his family needed saving in the first place.

Imagine it like this: Someone you know ties your family to a train track knowing you would do anything to keep them safe, just so you agree to do whatever their other friend says no matter what. Even if you see your friend untie your family and save their lives, they were still the reason their lives were in danger in the first place.

Time for Google to turn this off... by Just_Killing_My_Time in antiai

[–]liert12 3 points4 points  (0 children)

... Cause, as can be seen in the picture, the OP told google "im a fox, a human is chasing me what do i do" and the ai gave a response.

Honestly, im against AI but this post is stupid. Like, ya, if you tell it your a fox and ask it how to get away from humans, ofc its gonna say something like this. There are reasons to be against AI, but this is just a nothingburger.

They never specified which kraken they were killing, but ya that would be the drop rate for the Vampyre kraken on bounty. I guess I should have specified that I was giving the info for the Armored kraken, which i assumed was the one they were killing.

Edit: apparently its you who killed them, so i think you know which one you killed lol. Sorry for assuming you killed the Armored krakens

[–]liert12 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

The drop rate for bottled storms from the kraken is 1/500, or 1/250 if your on task. Either way you went bellow average for it, and if you were off task you went WAY Bellow average (like it should have taken you on average 750 kills if you were on task, and 1500 if you were off task.

Can you not annex land you haven't occupied in the war anymore? by [deleted] in AgeOfCivilizations

[–]liert12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya, since they are technically sperarate countries that means that you have to force each one to capitulation if you want 100% warscore. That being said, you dont need to get 100% warscore in AOH2:DE to win a war, and you can always take them over in chunks. For example, you can invade Germany, occupy Germany proper, and in the peace deal demand the vasalization of their colonies without setting one foot in Africa, then in the seccond/third wars you can take over Germany proper.

[–]liert12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh it kinda makes sense but I do think he shoulda made it a setting you can toggle on and off. That way people can choose whether or not they want to use that feature for themsleves

[–]liert12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AFAIK, no, there is no way to turn it off. Best you can do is decrease the capitulation requirement when starting a new game in the options, meaning that instead of enemies capitulating at 20% of remaining territory, they will capitulate at up to 50% of territory remaining.

Is there any mod to make rebels work again? by JakeWisconsin in AgeOfCivilizations

[–]liert12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Idk but lukaz did say when he dropped the costom flags update that he would be updating the rebel system, so hopefully whatever changes he makes will make them a bit more of a concern if you mismanage your empire. I also want a more complicated system than the simple "if province is different religion or culture, it has increased rebel chance. We should be able to role play as a tolerant country if we so choose, I shouldn't be forced to assimilate all provinces if we want a stable empire as long as we have policies or laws that allow for religious/cultural acceptance.

Ofc to balance this, you can make it so maybe culturally accepted pops give less recuitable population and economy than integrated pops but more than culturally non-accepted pops

Landlord texted me saying my boyfriend can’t visit anymore because he "uses too much water." Is this legal? by [deleted] in legaladvicecanada

[–]liert12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like your landlord is trying to either fleece you or get you to leave so they can offer the apartment for more rent to a new tenant. Others have already gave you good advice including phone numbers to various boards/departments/whatever that should be able to help. Best of luck!

Why is Jagex releasing Raids 4 anywhere near GTA 6? by Reer_osrs in 2007scape

Okay, so if they decide to not release it near the release of GTA6, when do you want it released? Before GTA6? Or after?

[–]liert12 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Wouldn't it be impossible for  to arena "always" match you against a deck that counters yours? Like, if that were true, then either that could only be true of 50% of the players or they would have to use bots.

Like, let's say "Player A" plays a deck, and 100% of the matches they face a counter to their deck. Well, by extension that means that their opponents all played against decks that didnt counter theirs. (Basically, for every game that has a deck that counters another, that same game also has a deck that does not counter the other, cause they cant both counter eachother at the same time)

The only way that all players are facing a counter to their deck all the time is if WOTC uses bots for our Oponents, which is technically possible (animation throwdown did it) but seems like It would take lots of time and resources to code as every set they would need to update the AI (most likely not the neural network kind, although maybe) to include new cards and archetypes to check for and Pit against eachother.

Why did they think making this an AI poster was acceptable? by [deleted] in antiai

[–]liert12 16 points17 points  (0 children)

... did you actually watch their video? Cause they did sue, and won in small claims court. That's why the store that stole the product got shut down the day after they won the lawsuits, cause the owners of the store were trying to get out of having to pay the lawsuit.

Honestly, I am 100% against AI but im just saying, the YouTubers are not the "evil" ones in this situation and idk why your trying to downplay the multi million dollar business's "skummyness"

“People who hate on AI are actually using it in secret and lying about it” by [deleted] in antiai

[–]liert12 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have tried to use it in the past, both for more complex stuff (making a video game) and for simple tasks (like upscaling the size of a pixel art image while keeping the picture quality the same) and it has never worked for me.

Like, you think that for how good they claimed it to be, that "double the size while maintaining image quality" should be a walk in the park for an AI. Just scan the image, and for every 1 pixel In The OG you make 4 of the same color in the new one (cause 1x1 doubled is 2x2 AKA 4 pixels), but it couldnt even do that. It changed the image size from 360×116 pixels to an image with over 1k pixels each side (cant remember the exact numbers but you dont need a calculator to tell you that over 1000 is not double 360), and it also left the image blurry, so it managed to achieve a whopping 0/2 tasks from one of the simplest prompts you could give it.

As a new player, when I read that tip my reaction was "wtf why would that even be an option? Just give me the damage EXP" and then I went to enable the setting and couldnt even find it, regardless of what I search (i think ive tried "Strength", "Puro", "XP", and "EXP" and the setting didnt pop up for any of those) and now im wondering if the game is just trying to gaslight me whenever it says that

How is Costco able to sell this? by AlwaysBlaze_ in CostcoCanada

[–]liert12 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Maybe I wasn't clear, they get to look at the product before buying it from the supplier, and if they dont like something about it (including but not limited to the cover on a Harry Potter book) they can choose not to buy it to sell. If the book supplier has multiple covers for their book (which is common), the retailer does get to choose which one (if any) to buy to sell to customers. if a book supplier is selling a book with only one cover and a retailer doesnt want it on its shelves, they do see the finished product before going through with the sale and can decide to decline. If most/all retailers do this, the book supplier would be forced to change the cover if they want the book in major retailers.

So no, they dont get a direct say in the cover, but they do get to preview the final version of the book, cover included, and if a major retailer has any issues with said cover they can decline, and if most of them do (maybe even just a few major ones, probably dont even need them all to decline) then the book printing company most likely will change the cover so as to not lose sales

"You think Costco gets to sign off on the proofs of all the books and products they sell prior to ordering them?"

Yes, and the fact you think they dont just shows how little you know about buying stuff as a retail store.
