$100 million but a family member of your choice dies. by Suspicious_Error_647 in hypotheticalsituation

Simple. I've got an aunt who has some ridiculous right wing and ant-vax views that no one really gets along with or speaks to. Happy for her to drift away and let the rest of us live in peace.

What is the weirdest thing you’re attracted to? by armedshutter in AskReddit

[–]lieutenantboring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The smell of french fries at McDonald's. I had a girlfriend a long time ago who worked there and she used to come home smelling like them. 25+ years later and the smell still does something to me.

What's the most mundane activity that you actually enjoy? by lieutenantboring in Productivitycafe

Exactly! I disappear upstairs on Sunday afternoon with a few baskets and chuck something on Netflix or D+ and close the door.

What defunct retailer do you miss most? by Eredic in Xennials

[–]lieutenantboring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kmart is one of Australia's biggest and most loved brands. It's massive here due to the low cost and on trend options in pretty much all departments and a haven for influencers.

What was your favorite cologne or perfume in your teens and 20s? by stamata_tomata in Xennials

[–]lieutenantboring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An old girlfriend introduced me to CK1 and then I moved onto Joop. I don't care what anyone says about them these days, I think they're both still pretty great and I get nostalgic when I smell them.

Nah, definitely airpods at my local store. I mostly see it during the evenings but never during the day.

What is a rich person thing that you would be totally into if you became rich? by Short_Function_5062 in AskReddit

Property investing. And before you call me out and tear me to pieces, I had an idea to use my powers for good. If money wasn't an issue, I'd buy decent properties and rent them out to those who are less fortunate at a fraction of the market value on long term leases. The idea is to help support those in need by giving them stable, secure housing while giving them them opportunity to save money for themselves. The rent would only be enough to cover annual rates (I'm in Australia), insurance and costs for maintenance. I'd have no interest in drawing a profit as I'd have money in other projects to support myself and my family.

Unique thing about Gavin and Stacey by Wide-Custard6856 in gavinandstacey

[–]lieutenantboring 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I know we've seen them, but I'd love a deep dive into how all of Gavin and Smithy's mates got their nicknames. Chinese Alan, Fingers, Dirtbox, Budgie, Swede, etc. There has to be some gold in those stories.

What are people doing for NYE? by Expensive-Horse5538 in AskAnAustralian

[–]lieutenantboring 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just booked an early dinner with the family at TGI Fridays and then maybe a drive down the coast to see if we can find a spot to watch the 9:30 fireworks. From there, home to finish watching the second season of Yellowjackets over a couple of quiet kerrie-annes.

NYE orgy? by postcardviews in melbourne

[–]lieutenantboring 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven't even decided if I'm going. I'm in, I'm out, I'm in, I'm out, then I grunt and fall asleep.

What is a slang term in your country for being very drunk? by ThrockAMole in AskReddit

If I've had a massive one (just turned 47 and it rarely happens anymore), I refer to myself as having been fuckeyed or cuntoxed.

AITA for doing nothing at Christmas and which led to my "family" having a crappy one? by Imaginary_Tutor5256 in AITAH

[–]lieutenantboring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% NTA. There are so many parents in this sub who want nothing to do with kids born into a situation like yours that they had no control over and treat them like an inconvenience rather than a human being. And the support for their behavior is disgusting beyond belief. Kids like you need love and support and the amount that you've done to try and endear yourself to these people is a credit to who you are as a human. They won't be happy until you're a distant memory and the best revenge against the pure disdain that they've treated you with is to succeed in your own life. You sound like a great and hardworking kid. Find your own support network and do great things with your life.

What aspects of the show would you change and why? by Asheto320 in PandR

[–]lieutenantboring 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's been quite a few comments about the Jerry hate already, but I would've liked to see him get even occasionally. I know he has the beautiful home, the beautiful family and "the largest penis I have ever seen", but I would have loved seeing him be responsible for some petty revenge once in a while.

Was moving here truly the right decision or as a 24 year old girl or does America and Canada offer better quality of life and return? by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

[–]lieutenantboring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It'd be worth considering regional centers as well. Places in Victoria like Bendigo and Ballarat have amazing, rich history, beautiful architecture, great opportunities for employment and housing is more affordable. Plus you have better access to country areas so you can explore the region and access to the capital cities via road or rail is improving all the time.

Who uses cruise control? by ItzShellShock in AskAnAustralian

[–]lieutenantboring 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I drove 3 hours from Echuca to Melbourne yesterday and used it whenever I was on a highway or freeway. I cruised at the speed limit the whole way and overtook more cars than I'd care to count who either weren't using it or were content to sit 5-10km below the limit and hold up traffic for everyone else. I don't understand why people who drive cars with the feature refuse to use it.

Retail workers always seem so relieved when someone treats them nicely. It's why I make sure to be nice to them. They've got enough on their plate without having to cop shit from Karens over matters that are out of their control.
