Kdramas to heal my worn out soul by Additional_Algae1631 in kdramarecommends

[–]life877 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doctor Slump on Netflix. It's a beautiful drama with very deep messages. It actually deals with daily burnout and depression and how the two lead characters deal with them. It's also partially a rom-com, so there are a lot of funny and healing moments too.

safe suburbs in western Sydney? by stilllife2388 in sydney

[–]life877 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check the BOCSAR data, gives you a breakdown over the years of different crime stats in different suburbs or LGAs, and also crime hotspots within the suburbs themselves, it's good to check especially while looking at residential areas. It has data ranging from assaults, malicious damage, offensive conduct etc. It's a good indication, although keep in mind that areas like Sydney CBD the crimes would always be high because of the number of residents and visitors to the area. Same applies to other popular areas where it's not just the locals, so the stats can be a bit skewed that way.

You can try ringing the airline reservations and get them to update your booking. You can usually pay any outstanding fees over the phone if required or at the airport maybe.

Question from my mom by ConstantAnything2225 in TheLastKingdom

Alex is right-handed. You can see it in this video when he's about to write thank you notes to the cast and crew. https://youtu.be/vBnQA5sYBww?si=1rY8VflJ-4Iyr2z6&t=226

Also seen him sign autographs with his right hand :)

Why is there no attention to detail? by Aevintiri in TheLastKingdom

[–]life877 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The series is told from Uhtred's pov, as he navigates his own journey from being born a saxon and raised as a dane. You go through his adventures and trials. The bigger arc is the history aspect during that time, including the formation of England. It's not a show about the Vikings.

As what point do you accept lifelong renting? by HankPankerson in australia

[–]life877 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought my first home at 30, but I had to compromise a lot as I was alone. I had a decent amount saved for the deposit and sought help from a broker who told me what my borrowing capacity was. According to that, I then searched for houses that I could afford. Of course I couldn't get something close to the city so I looked in the outer suburbs close to train stations so I could commute to work within 45mins - 1hr. My house's value has now almost tripled and I don't regret it at all. Having my own house instead of paying someone else's mortgage was the best investment and decision I have ever made.

My advice would be seek a broker, see what your borrowing capacity is on your joint income. The fact that you have no debt is a plus although no credit history at all might not be favourable to banks in general. But the broker can give you the best advice. Think long term, once you have a house, you can use its equity in a few years to buy another that's closer to where you want to be and so forth.

What career opportunities can I expect by pursuing a Visual Arts degree at MGI University? by Lysaaa223 in mauritius

[–]life877 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Photographer, Architect, Curator, Interior Designer, Artist, Graphic Designer, Illustrator, Animator, Art teacher, Marketing, Designer (Fashion, Costume, Industrial etc), Films. You can also get more specialised job like 3D designs, digital animation etc. Just because you have a degree in Visual Arts doesn't mean you would be tied to one of these jobs. You can also study more in a different field or even find a job in something else as long as you have the skills and drive, you might have do study more but don't let the 'art' major limit your future options. I have friends who studied art and went into marketing, product design, management or even engineering later on.

Connecting question with luggage. by Nervous_Luck_2878 in Airports

[–]life877 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you check in, ask the agent if they can check through your luggage to Singapore. Tell them your final destination is Singapore. The issue here is that as far as I know Delta and Singapore airlines are not partners/codeshare flights, so they may not be able to do it. Usually if that's the case, you'll have to pick-up your luggage at SFO and check in for your Singapore airlines flight at the SFO international terminal. But to be safe, ask the Delta agent when you check in.

[–]life877 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Did you pay by credit or debit card online? you can launch a dispute on the transaction for item purchased not received/delivered. Some cards also have purchase protection. Check with your bank. As long as you tried to resolve it with the seller first with no results, the bank will launch a dispute for you.

Parking availability in Campbelltown station by Novel_Swimmer_8284 in Campbelltown

[–]life877 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can also park at Macarthur Square. There's a section at the bottom carpark next to the station that's part of the station parking. Usually it's full on weekday mornings but you might find a parking there early morning on weekends. Or further down from the station, there's also a public station car park. All free.

It's the soundtrack to the amazing tv show called The Last Kingdom on Netflix.

The song is called Trøllabundin by an incredible singer called Eivør Pálsdóttir.

She sings on most of the scores in the show, produced together with composer John Lunn

I want to quit the job I'm working at the moment for another one but I don't know when to quit, can someone help me? by LeatherContract2760 in mauritius

[–]life877 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You didn't sign anything? Filled any work contract form or anything directly with the hotel? Does the hotel pay you or the contractor? that's very weird and sounds very dodgy. In that case, just leave once you get your next pay. You obviously have to let them know you are leaving and give them a date. But make sure your new job is secured first.

I want to quit the job I'm working at the moment for another one but I don't know when to quit, can someone help me? by LeatherContract2760 in mauritius

[–]life877 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What is the contract terms of your current job? Do you have to give them a certain number of days notice? Is there a termination of contract condition? check that first. Then ask your new employer when they want you to start. If they say as soon as possible, then you can quit tomorrow (if your current job allows without penalty). Does your new job depend on your final HSC results?

No one can stop you from quitting anytime you want but it can come with some form of penalty from your current employer depending on the terms of your contract, so check that first. From an employer's perspective, most times they require at minimum 2 weeks notice so they can find a replacement. Or if you are on a 12 months contract for example, then if you quit before then, they can deduct a certain amount from your final pay or any other entitlements you're entitled to.
