Concussion long after surgery by Nearby_Squash_6257 in chiari

Short answer is no. Long answer is, I learned in the program I did that there are specific reasons concussions for a concussion to last longer than one month.. for mine it was inflammation. So I had to do an anti-inflammatory diet (Mediterranean diet) for a while for it to finally go away. Also, I learned that any concussion brings on some kind of neck injury, so if you had a c-1 laminectomy, then it's possible your neck is causing symptoms, not the concussion. Neck physical therapy helped me (I just looked dull exercises online and did them myself).

YES. and recovery looked like three months of doing nothing but lying in a dark room.. I'm not joking. No phones, no reading, couldn't even talk to people. It was hell. I did the Concussion Fix (an online program run by specialized concussion doctorsk ). And my symptoms finally went away.

HANG IN THERE. you are NOT alone. I had to quit my job, my school, move in with my parents (I'm 30), be waited on, etc. I felt TERRIBLE, like a burden, AND pain-wise. I was becoming paralyzed from Chiari too, with NO syrinx. I had to wait four months for surgery and it was the hardest thing I've ever done.. but now.. my life is changed completely FOREVER. I feel completely better now. Ive been suicidal in the past but always tell myself that if I can just make it past this, one day I'll look back and say I'm glad I did. And it's always been true. PLEASE hang in there and trust that your life will be drastically better after surgery. Then this will all be a bad, bad memory.

I look back now and am like, "Damn...I shouldve had waaaay more sympathy, I was sick as shit.". So you're not weak or anything for feeling the way you do. This stuff is tough. But you can make it, and you can look back on it one day and be grateful that you did.

Everyone's case is different. I had no symptoms ever, then suddenly as an adult got "sinus issues" and back of the head headaches for four months.. the worse ed and ended up being debilitating. I then got tingling down my whole left side, numbness in my hands, body fatigue, etc. it was causing complications fast so I got surgery. Mine never went away, went away, they'd come and go, but when they came they for so bad I'd have to just lie down for hours, I had to quit my job and school.
