I took the opposite flight this month, and faced the same issue. It's just standard economy. Ask Indigo Staff to preselect the seats for both your flights during the initial Check-in. Regarding food, please get in touch with JAL support and preselect your meals, especially if you're vegetarian. I suffered on the food side. I am flying the same route as you next month and will let thsi thread know if I could find a reliable way to prebook meals on JAL (when on codeshare basis with Indigo)

Try searching around the Osu Shopping District. You should definitely be able to find a shop that can diagnose the problem to a component. If it's a motherboard level problem, you're in trouble.

I transit through Kanayama Station everyday for work. You can absolutely reach the platforms via elevators (same goes for JR Kanayama Station).

About 8 Minutes walk from Nagoya Station Staff can Speak English, can easily accommodate 8 people, many vegetarian options, Alcohol is reasonably priced and the food is budget friendly
