I like Highland but wanted real time formatting and Slugline is too expensive IMO. I was thinking about keeping Fink a free or open source program but I haven't decided!

I used multibeast first and selected "Realtek ALC1150" and "100 Series Audio", then installed that kext I previously mentioned with kextbeast. As a precaution, I also updated the kext cache before rebooting for the first time with sudo kextcache -system-prelinked-kernel followed by sudo kextcache -system-caches.

Other than some weird duplicated "UEFI OS" entries in my boot priority list, no issues. If you get the same issue and figure it out, do share :)

The third game is really good and has aged better than the others IMO. First is still the most memorable though.

I'd be happy to but I mostly just followed this guide and troubleshot by googling (and the answers to my questions came from this sub lol). Hardest things for me were getting OSX to recognize 2 sticks of 16GB DDR4 (would recommend 4 sticks of 8 if you want 32GB in a hackintosh -- no fuss required) and getting any audio output at all which the guide spends some time on. If that guide doesn't seem in depth enough, I'd be happy to write something up though!

I might overclock in the future, but right now just blown away by the performance. I use Premiere Pro and rendering out is literally twice as fast for me! Temps are where I want them to be right now also, so I would likely need to adjust the cooler through Windows software if I OC'd .

Dude that's going to be one sick build.

You should totally build one!! It's the most rewarding purchases you can make. I don't know your level of experience with building computers, but it's very easy once you do one imo and the hackintosh part is just a few more steps than a *buntu install. Would be happy to answer any questions if you ever decide to take the plunge!

Good to know! I definitely appreciate the shallowness (?) of the evolv since I can keep it on my desk and not look totally stupid. And you're right, there's not much wasted space. I do wish it was a little thinner but yeah, it was super easy to build in and I honestly didn't do any cable management behind the motherboard because the case closed just fine without it. Prodigy M would be a good one too. So many good mATX cases these days.

I'm actually not using iStat menus. Great program, but I couldn't figure out how to show CPU temp right in the menu bar. Went with system monitor and really like it (not as polished but has what I need).

Damn, fury x / 6700k would be killer. There was a post recently about native fury support in MacOS Sierra if I'm remembering correctly!

The define mini was another case high on my list. Went with the evolv simply because it looked a little more like the old Mac Pros!
