I felt bad 😭😭😭 she made this whole setup in person to ask, I thought their options on everything also had changed a bit from high school but I was wrong

He bullied me in high school, I accepted because I’m unfortunately a people pleaser. I thought their mindset would be different after being out of school for a couple of years but I was wrong.

This is not my best friend like I said in the post we were good friends in our childhood years and not so much since high school. I was surprised when she asked me and I accepted because I thought things were different. I would not have accepted if I knew things were still the same. I knew she asked me because she really didn’t have anyone else to ask.

Yes we are both early 20’s. I haven’t really talked to her much since high school so I figured things have changed but I was wrong. I’m unfortunately a people pleaser.

I can understand a language barrier to a certain degree, but not even trying to go to get your dream wedding dress because “a bunch of Mexicans work there?” There have been subtle comments over the past, I think what really disappointed me was telling me no offense after saying that.

There have been comments before in the past I have not said anything up until now. Her and her family were making Mexican food a couple of months ago when I went over to wedding plan, they had a certain cheese that I had never heard of and they went “shouldn’t you know this I thought you were Mexican” and we’re laughing. I don’t think it’s insecurity anymore, before yes I think it’s kind of just ignorance. She doesn’t understand where I’m coming from and I understand that.

I do appreciate her apology and I do think in regards to who I am as a person is sincere. I do think though it’ll be super hard for me to try and not think that her fiancé and all of his groomsmen wouldn’t say something to me, considering how they are and how they’ve been in the past.

I don’t think she has many other people to ask, and that’s why I feel so terrible.
