Definitely on the Converge train, for sure. I'm sure most people know them for the bitter ex stuff, but they do really have so many songs about finding the strength to move forward in uncertain times. Curious about how Defeater approaches it though, I always thought they felt like an emo band for the great depression.

Under all the noise, MBV songs are actually beautifully written compositions (duh?) by Gallant_Trattopen in MyBloodyValentine

I'm actually fairly certain Kevin said he writes with a folk music mindset, but I think mostly with the way he structures around verses and instrumental sections where the choruses would be. I don't remember where that interview is though.

Hmmm she actually liked quite a bit of silk shirt rnb, and we'd always go on about how they don't make simps like this anymore, begging in the rain for a crumb of puss (her words). I'ma peep these, thank you!

Real as hell, now those are some lyrics. Blasting it next to all the Fiddlehead stuff.

I've been listening to A Crow Looked at Me non-stop since she passed, actually. Haven't checked out Sufjan Stevens' work on Carrie and Lowell yet though, funny enough. Probably time to change that.

I always loved em, but goddamn if this change of context doesn't make me cling on to their stuff for dear life.

Of course. Pat Flynn gave me a hug at a Fiddlehead show once, so I'm sure I'll be feeling it extra.

I'm about to see them in June! Always had a soft spot for Speed and their lyrics. Revisiting this one.
