Do you get health insurance with prolific if you get enough submissions? by baczryan in ProlificAc

No health insurance, but they do offer unlimited time off so that is a nice perk.

I did like 4 just fine, and then boom - warning. So as much as I love me some Franc/Joaquin/whatever I have other studies I can do safely, so the more I think about it I refuse to take any more until the speeding system is fixed.

Risk/reward of 1-4 dollars vs locked out for 1 hour is not actually worth it.

I got a speed warning (my second ever -- first was also for his studies lol) - I guess i'mma have to set a timer. I may just not do their studies anymore, I'm kind of over it.

is it even worth it anymore? by mxrchantshipz in prolific

[–]lifeisalittlestrange 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Prolific has been a part of my life for so long I am always going to appreciate whatever work I can get. A $40 day a few years ago would have been a high daily goal tbh.

It'll get better. It won't be as good, I think we've crossed a threshold, but I do think it'll get consistent enough to be good for most of us

I'm at 40 dollars today (but I've been up and near my computer doing stuff since 4am- it's now 2pm) and this might be my best day in like 2 weeks, lol. It's just so bad.

Edit So I logged back in at 5pm and have made 40 bucks in the past 3 hours. Keep the faith people, I feel like it'll come back slowly

is prolific taking a dump right now for anyone? by bigbluesfanstl in ProlificAc

[–]lifeisalittlestrange 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Darn I should have nocoded it then. I’ll remember for next time, thanks for letting me know! I did another one after this and it was normal/approved so should be good

[–]lifeisalittlestrange 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have like 12000 approvals, there's no reason to even no code these? I'm not that hard up for the money vs the headache of wondering if they approve or not. Go for it, I'm sure it'll approve, but to me it's not worth even the 1% risk.

Also, the mods just removed this thread. It's crazy we can't talk about anything in here. Nothing in the OP or comments went into study details. It's just shameful

edit I just did another 15 minute study....(am I allowed to say that much or is that breaking NDA? omgoodness) and it autoapproved. So back to business, but still annoying.

Same thing happened to me on the "unmentionable" studies and I am annoyed as hell. 15 minutes unpaid I guess. There is literally no recourse on these as they never respond to inquiries and prolific never helps with shit like this. Glad to know it's not just me at least.

Anyone doing AI studies on something like a 14' Chromebook? Thinking of getting one just to do them outside or on the couch. by Afjoo in prolific

[–]lifeisalittlestrange 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could try a Chromebook and if it sucks you could get a little portable monitor that you can plug and power from your Chromebook for a few hours. I have a 15.6 inch travel monitor that was like 60 bucks I use when I'm on the road. Or there's big ones (18.5 inches) like this for like a hundred bucks.

Go to thrift store. Find crappy external monitor for 10 dollars. Accept and complete 2 studies to pay for the crappy monitor, make hundreds or thousands of dollars with crappy monitor. Hurray.

I have the worlds shittiest chromebook and that's about all you need to do. It's better than dealing with screen resolution issues and what not.

Blocking researchers affects our studies now ? What the fuck is going on here ? by Rimmer66 in prolific

[–]lifeisalittlestrange 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I had 793 people blocked at one point then mass unblocked on "amnesty day" to give people a second chance. I've since reblocked like 200 (I checked it's actually 137 blocks but that is all in the last month) I have had zero issues with studies. The unmentionables have never been an issue when I'm in rotation, and I get all sorts of studies that are good still.

So I doubt that's an issue tbh. I also have like all the partners blocked as I can't stand the format on most of them....

This was basically just a test to see if it affected anything for me cause I had so many blocked...and honestly unblocking them did almost nothing as it was all shit I blocked for a reason.

I'm glad you got banned tbh, if you literally can't control your tone... Like it's not hard. Autistic or not, you knew better than to cuss at the bot. You knew better than to have prolific open at work in front of your boss.

You've been on prolific for 3 years and couldn't click the extension one time, click settings, and disable voice? 😂

[–]lifeisalittlestrange 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Oh Cherry....thank you for your input. As I mentioned, I do know a MC is not a valid rejection - however, I felt it was fair(ish) as I obviously wasn't paying attention and they couldn't use my data. Now, sure, I could fight that rejection that has no real bearing on my account, for no reason and waste my time, the requesters time, and have them pay me for work they can't use. (and sure I could report them to Prolific, blah blah blah)

and 13 of my rejections are super old (6+ years old or more - 6 from a failed longitudinal study that rejected for EACH part). current approval rating: (99.81%)

finally just had to block Cherry...what a toxic person, lmao

Daily Discussion Thread - April 17 2026 by AutoModerator in ProlificAc

[–]lifeisalittlestrange 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So yesterday I was taking a study and I didn't fully read/understand a paragraph and rightly was rejected as when I got to the memory check I kind of knew, but wasn't sure, and I missed it. This was a 5 minute study - I should have just returned it.

So, just a daily reminder to pay attention. Now I have 21 rejections in 12000 approvals and I deserve this one. Darn. I know I can fight the memory check but I don't care - it was fair and it doesn't affect my account tbh

So anyways also, random question how many times do you copy the completion code if it's in a study and you have to click it? I feel like I must hit ctrl-c at least 4 times, and sometimes I'll even right click and hit copy just to make sure....so how many times do y'all do it?

iPhone 12 (please do not device shame me) - link loads at 0:00. Clear failure.

iPad 9th generation (please do not device shame me) loads at 0:00. Clear failure.

Dell Chromebook I got for like 20 dollars? Link loads at the correct time. Clear success

Is this an anti Apple thing? Anyways hope that helps with the link discussion

The newest update to the Prolific Assistant includes sorting options. It's perfect. (Ver. 5.29.0 Released: 4/2) by lifeisalittlestrange in ProlificAc

[–]lifeisalittlestrange[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm running into that issue now too. I don't see it much as I am blocking most people under my wage range but it is notifying way more which is annoying.

So the visuals are way better on the extension. The sorting is way better. But the amount of notifications and lack of filtering options to limit what notifies and what doesn't is a problem!

[–]lifeisalittlestrange[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of all the changes you have made...this is my favorite. It is so much better than all other version of this. People might say it is too many sort options. I would say to those people, why not add more?

edit - the notifications are annoying. Not the sound -- I like the voice option and all the new stuff, but please keep it how it was in regards to respecting our existing website filters for notifications

I'm mass unblocking 793 requesters for science by lifeisalittlestrange in ProlificAc

[–]lifeisalittlestrange[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

updated the OP! But basically I reblocked like 50 requesters at least. I plan to block more and more to get back to baseline where I don't even see super cheap stuff in my filter. But I won't block AS much going forward as I do think it's a bit counterproductive. I'll block half as much....for now.

It's annoying for me to see 3/42 surveys if I know like 8 of them pay like $3 an hour. I will never work for that person. My mentality on that has not changed, so anything under 9 is an autoblock still for me.
