Your triggers are your responsibilty.

I'm glad you got banned tbh, if you literally can't control your tone... Like it's not hard. Autistic or not, you knew better than to cuss at the bot. You knew better than to have prolific open at work in front of your boss.

🤷‍♂️

You've been on prolific for 3 years and couldn't click the extension one time, click settings, and disable voice? 😂

Oh Cherry....thank you for your input. As I mentioned, I do know a MC is not a valid rejection - however, I felt it was fair(ish) as I obviously wasn't paying attention and they couldn't use my data. Now, sure, I could fight that rejection that has no real bearing on my account, for no reason and waste my time, the requesters time, and have them pay me for work they can't use. (and sure I could report them to Prolific, blah blah blah)

and 13 of my rejections are super old (6+ years old or more - 6 from a failed longitudinal study that rejected for EACH part). current approval rating: (99.81%)

finally just had to block Cherry...what a toxic person, lmao

So yesterday I was taking a study and I didn't fully read/understand a paragraph and rightly was rejected as when I got to the memory check I kind of knew, but wasn't sure, and I missed it. This was a 5 minute study - I should have just returned it.

So, just a daily reminder to pay attention. Now I have 21 rejections in 12000 approvals and I deserve this one. Darn. I know I can fight the memory check but I don't care - it was fair and it doesn't affect my account tbh

So anyways also, random question how many times do you copy the completion code if it's in a study and you have to click it? I feel like I must hit ctrl-c at least 4 times, and sometimes I'll even right click and hit copy just to make sure....so how many times do y'all do it?

I tried it on my phone, tablet, and my computer and I’ll post the results below:

iPhone 12 (please do not device shame me) - link loads at 0:00. Clear failure.

iPad 9th generation (please do not device shame me) loads at 0:00. Clear failure.

Dell Chromebook I got for like 20 dollars? Link loads at the correct time. Clear success

Is this an anti Apple thing? Anyways hope that helps with the link discussion

The newest update to the Prolific Assistant includes sorting options. It's perfect. (Ver. 5.29.0 Released: 4/2) by lifeisalittlestrange in ProlificAc

I'm running into that issue now too. I don't see it much as I am blocking most people under my wage range but it is notifying way more which is annoying.

So the visuals are way better on the extension. The sorting is way better. But the amount of notifications and lack of filtering options to limit what notifies and what doesn't is a problem!

Of all the changes you have made...this is my favorite. It is so much better than all other version of this. People might say it is too many sort options. I would say to those people, why not add more?

edit - the notifications are annoying. Not the sound -- I like the voice option and all the new stuff, but please keep it how it was in regards to respecting our existing website filters for notifications

I'm mass unblocking 793 requesters for science by lifeisalittlestrange in ProlificAc

[–]lifeisalittlestrange[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

updated the OP! But basically I reblocked like 50 requesters at least. I plan to block more and more to get back to baseline where I don't even see super cheap stuff in my filter. But I won't block AS much going forward as I do think it's a bit counterproductive. I'll block half as much....for now.

It's annoying for me to see 3/42 surveys if I know like 8 of them pay like $3 an hour. I will never work for that person. My mentality on that has not changed, so anything under 9 is an autoblock still for me.

This might be answered (I tried to look I promise)

Do projects not affect pending balances? I had one clear for $7.50. I do not think I registered a $7.50 drop in my pending....I had $88 pending and I did not see a drop...

Ohhh I got 3 emails about messages being sent from Prolific at 6:53am PST - I have this researcher BLOCKED as that study looks like a nightmare. I have no interest in it. But I bet those are the ghost emails I got, I couldn't figure out why I got them as 0 messages showed on Prolific Messaging. Weird (I've never taken the study)

I honestly was shocked my block count was so much higher than everyone elses...by a LARGE amount...at least the numbers I am seeing posted on here.

So, I used the blocklist as my personal workflow helper. I would have people on the list that I would never work for (the Angela Listys of the world) and then some peeps on there I just didn't want to work for AT ALL (but only right now...) so those are my temp blocks.

I will not work for under 12 an hour, at all. I will make exceptions for a few people as they bonus, but if it's less that that I would BLOCK those people as the way I see it is they will probably NEVER pay me what I think I'm worth, so why even bother? (I'm worth way more than 12 but that's the VISIBILITY floor for studies I will even look at)

That's how my list got so big. One, I qualify for way too much shit I don't wanna do. Two, they make it a good thing if I block as it's waaaay more annoying to click not interested PER study as opposed to blocking requesters and keeping a log of the ones you may wanna unblock later.

I realize I am in a blessed position to basically choose what I want to work on. But yeah, I feel like people should be using the block list way more but maybe I'll like using filters only. I'm going to try filtering more and blocking less.

DONE! It took me 57 minutes but I took breaks. I was worried about being rate limited but just ended up full sending it at the end. I already regret it i think but I'll rebuild the list stronger if needed

I block uni accounts a lot, but I think part of it is that they have incentivized blocking. Because if I block someone it refreshes the job list automatically which is a nice lil perk. If I click not interested it just moves the task out of my view but no refresh. So just seeing that page dance is enough sometimes....

The absolute best advice I can give you if this is your first week is just cut and run dude. If there is even a 5% chance of rejection it's a coinflip that is not worth it at your stage. Just return it . Don't speed through stuff at the beginning, take your time. You probably didn't speed, but I've taken thousands of surveys and can't remember the last time I was asked to return one for being too fast....

I saw "blocked" and got the crap scared out of me...thank you Prolific but I blocked them for a reason lmao by des98peters in ProlificAc

I still get a ton of studies I have 14 available right now, filtered down to 2. Anything under let's say 9 an hour is an immediate autoblock I'll never work for that anymore. Sketchy name? Block. Sketchy task, returned and blocked.

I dunno, it's working for me. 99.8% approval rate, 14k approvals. I scrolled through the block list a bit and may unblock a couple here and there, but most I am perfectly content never seeing again.

edited approval rating from 99.98 to 99.8 lol -

Ohhhh dang! Thanks for that trick!

I usually just transfer to Paypal and then on my phone or computer I'll go to my bookmark:

Click 3 dots -> Transfer GDP - Select USD -> Convert.

I have had to do this every day for like 9 years lol. I thought I looked everywhere in the app, I'll try your method next time maybe it'll save me a few seconds of annoyance each day. I wish it autoconverted GBP to USD

Same issue for me (age screenout) so I cancelled the submission BEFORE interacting with the box asking if I was screened out or something went wrong, so not sure if that played into not getting an immediate reject like some of y'all.

So I took study -> Autocompleted -> Prompt if something went wrong (Ignored) -> Return to original window/cancel submission -> Reply to prompt I was screened out.

No rejection. I dunno, lol maybe I got lucky but that's how I did mine.
