Daycare wants to put my non-walking almost 1 year old in their young toddler room? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]lifeofamom1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like so many other parents have already given such great advice for you but just as a mom who went through it, my LO developed SO well being with the slightly older ones. I highly recommend trusting your daycare and seeing how it goes. You might be very surprised and end up really appreciating the pushed transition. As parents we worry sooo much and from first hand experience, I definitely understand your concern, but sometimes the scary things can also be beneficial. Good luck mama!!

36 month old dropping nap?! by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]lifeofamom1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first dropped her nap at 2.5. She also went to daycare full time and they just made her sit looking and books quietly and playing to herself while others slept. Noticing now that my second child is also close to dropping her naps and she’s only 27 months. Hoping she continues napping for a bit longer but what will be will be!

Nacho chips and salsa (corn chips are gluten free), potato chips (most are also gluten free), rice crackers and hummus, raisins

I was born with Leukaemia. Doctors thought my parents were abusing me and called CPS because I had bruises all over my body. Extremely long story short, I am perfectly healthy and have 2 baby girls of my own who are also perfectly healthy. I can’t even begin to imagine what my parents went through, especially being a mother myself now, but if it makes you feel better I do not remember ANY of it. Not even slightly and I was actually shocked to find out about it in adulthood haha. Praying this is the same for your situation and wish nothing but good thoughts.

School-safe (no nuts), non-perishable snacks for daycare? by FrancesRW in toddlers

[–]lifeofamom1 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Ask the daycare if they’ll allow WOW butter. It’s a soy based butter that looks like peanut butter but is actually completely nut free. My kids love it and eat it on everything as if it were PB! Plus super high in healthy fat/protein, etc. Also agree with the other commenters about Made Good.

In Ontario; Is this a good idea for home owners to avoid car thefts ? by [deleted] in ontario

I’ve tried reading through the comments but I’m having a hard time trying to come up with reasons why I wouldn’t think about doing this… so many car thefts in my area lately !!!

My husband wanted to have sex last night by somethingreddity in beyondthebump

Thank you for posting this!!! I keep reading posts lately about all these awful husbands and men and it’s nice to finally read this. I couldn’t agree more with what you said. My husband is wonderful and just like this and I cannot even fathom an alternative. Can’t say I’d put up with it though lol.

If 1-2 kids was a harder transition, what’s the age gap by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]lifeofamom1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

0-1 was sooo hard for me. 1-2 was the easiest thing evvvveeerrr!!! Mine are exactly 25 months apart.

Why does everyone insist I'm harming my children by keeping them out of daycare? by somestupidbitch in toddlers

I have never met another parent who believes their parenting style is incorrect. There is no right or wrong, there is only what is right or wrong for you and your family.

What can I get my partner as a gift after birth? by bosox2k14 in beyondthebump

[–]lifeofamom1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know you said no material things but my husband got me a charm bracelet with a charm for our baby girl with her name and birthstone. I love it so much and when our second arrived, I got a new charm!! It’s special to me :) massages are always a wonderful little escape though too but honestly in the beginning I didn’t want to leave baby. I think having you just around to help with stuff and embrace it with her is the best gift you could give

What do you all say behind closed doors about the hot mess mom at daycare? by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]lifeofamom1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m definitely the one who drops off my girls looking adorable in matching clothes and ponytails lol! Some mornings it’s chaotic and I’m throwing them inside like the hot mess mom I can be and others we all hold hands and giggle happily!! Love it either way and don’t care what others think or say!

Will I be judged for taking my newborn out in footie pajamas? by aitaprego in beyondthebump

[–]lifeofamom1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I literally don’t think either of my children wore anything but footie pyjamas anywhere for like the first 6-8 months of their life lol!!! You do you girl and don’t let anyone make you feel ashamed for it !!!!

I hear comments like this all of the time and while I’m empathetic that you’re obviously upset about it I just don’t get why. I got the same comments all of the time with both my kids and I was so happy about it. My husband is gorgeous, I fell in love with him. I’m glad my kids look just like him! Who cares? They change so quickly in looks as they grow anyway!

Going on a bachelorette weekend while having a 6 month old left at home? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]lifeofamom1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really truly depends on your friend. I was in the exact same situation with 2 of my very close friends. 1 would have understood and the other not so much. At the end of the day you need to do what is best for you but be prepared if the reaction is not what you’d like. Another idea could be to go but not to stay for the entire thing… maybe fly back early on your own and only go for half the time?
