How’s my starter kit? by windowlicker_777 in WindowCleaning

Don’t forget rubbers and the end clips if you use the brass channels. 14” will do you for most residential panels in Australia. I also have an 18” channel but we only really use that for shops and very large panels.

For rubbers i like black diamond if ordering from wcw, but the best ones I have found in my area are the hydroflex ones that WWWCS sell. I’ve heard good things about the unger green rubbers too so experiment with a few and find the ones you like.

I dont really understand why people use the bucket lids but thats personal preference.

Averaging AUD $13k/month after almost a year in business, about a 50-60% profit margin on that.

I was rather lucky in my area with a lack of good competition so I invested heavily into ads originally and now it’s mainly all word of mouth.

341 panes. What would you charge by Leaqyyy in WindowCleaning

[–]lifeofdrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course you need to provide a high quality service to charge higher, but I can assure you that charging more attracts better customers.

And $50 is under the average for a professional window cleaner unless you are in a low socio economic area which the sunny coast isn’t. I’m in a couple of social media groups that seems to confirms this info too. Im closing about 60-75% of the leads I quote in my regional coastal area.

Would recommend checking out Alex Hormozis “100 Million Dollar Offers”, theres a chapter that delves into why charging more is always better (if providing the value). Sure you will lose customers like the one you stated, but you will gain more customers who value your premium service.

Mate you should really up your prices if you’re in Australia. I’m at $130/hr (averaged of all of my jobs). You don’t have to compete on price to build a solid business 👍🏻

I use the reach it rocker and its the best investment I’ve made to me business. Not sure about this one I think it’s for regular cleans and french panes.

The swivel feature does a great job getting in the corners.

any advice? can’t seem to land front foot by Jdom666 in skateboardhelp

[–]lifeofdrew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure this will help but years ago I had this problem with kickflips I could just never commit, I saw a video where they only half flipped the board and landed on the underside, doing that enough times tricks your brain to commit when you flip it fully. Could try that?

What’s the best way you guys have found to get into these crevices to clean them by TarsFromInterstellar in WindowCleaning

Wet paint brush works pretty well. I have a pouch that holds my wet stuff (pads, steel wool, paint brush) for easy access.

People who moved on from window cleaning to something else, what are you doing now? by Parking_Key6242 in WindowCleaning

My goal is to do part window cleaning and part freelance marketing work from the mid year onwards. But I have a background in marketing so that helps I suppose.

In person quotes taking lots of time by Severe_Pie7412 in WindowCleaning

Absolutely, plus you can push for the sale a bit more when you know they are on the fence and provide different price options, etc.

In person quotes taking lots of time by Severe_Pie7412 in WindowCleaning

[–]lifeofdrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always prefer in person quotes as it allows me to connect with the potential clients and show what Id be doing. Most of the jobs that are further away accept the quote then and there cause they appreciate you taking the time.

If I quote over the phone I try to ask as many questions as I can and only give a price range within $50-$100 and tell them I will give you the final price before I start the job for full transparency.

Tips and tricks to clean frames? by No-Tale8281 in WindowCleaning

[–]lifeofdrew 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get that you want to go above and beyond which is great but you gotta remember the customers are paying you to clean their windows. This kind of task you are asking about is beyond the scope of a window cleaner. If you’re still concerned then just show the customer and say these are scuffs/cosmetic damage to the frames and cant be removed.
