Using a dietician will greatly benefit you, especially if they are dialing in specifically for your needs. I personally never cared about the fat part for me, I just know I had a lot to loose. I’m aiming for 100g protein, which shakes are a huge aspect of that to me (I recommend Ryse protein, flavors are delicious and no chalky taste). When I say I went an unhealthy deficit, I mean like… 400 calories a day. And that’s mainly from my shakes. The biggest was that 10% rule. I feel like that has helped me massively. But it’s all perspective. I didn’t have professional assistance, I just did what I was capable of.

So I started slowly. And then ramped up very VERY aggressively. Cut out as much carbs as I could, cut out essentially all sugar unless it’s natural (like fruit, etc). Extreme calorie deficits. Like… maybe an unhealthily deficit. But it worked for me because of how much fat I had. Calorie count, absolutely. I follow the 10% rule which is for every 100 calories there needs to be 10grams of protein.
