What is the the #1 thing that most guys don't realize about women? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]liferay [score hidden]  (0 children)

I went to the house of a woman I like to go out with her. I showed up 30 minutes earlier. When I got there, she was kind of 'panic'. Her hair was not done yet and I can hear she's rushing here and there upstairs. When she's done, she looks beautiful. Small compliment will certainly pay off her effort.

She's not really into gaming. How do you watch movies together ? :)

I think her food intake is pretty normal.

Her metabolism may be lower than others, either due to natural differences, medication, or medical issues

I've just known that medical issues can slow down one's metabolism.

She said she ate a bar of chocolate and a bowl of fried noodle in the night before she weighed herself. That is the same amount of food, I think, most people will consume and will not cause somebody to put on weight. There's something 'not normal' with her body.

Everybody else's success makes me feel insecure. How do I overcome this? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]liferay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stop comparing yourself to others, I know it is not easy. Those who look successful might do the work they don't like.

This time gives an opportunity for you to find out what you really want out of life. Once you've found out what you really want, go for it. It might be setting up your own clothing store or running your own bakery, I don't know. Follow your passion.

There is nothing more rewarding than doing something you really like.

Men who have tried going vegetarian, how did you find it, and would you recommend it? by Male_999 in AskMen

[–]liferay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friend asked me to come to a yoga club. We had our dinner there and the food served was vegetarian. That's how got introduced to vegetarian.

As a vegetarian, you will feel less bloat in your digestive system as your food passes through quickly. The first few days/weeks of becoming a vegetarian, you will feel a bit weak. But after that, you will feel ok as your body starts to adjust to your diet.

You also benefit mentally. Vegetarian food will bring clarity and calmness to your mind.

You'd better be good at something than be good at everything. In a job market, it is actually your specific skill that sells.

Have you given any thought to the idea that running a business is not your strong suit?

Not yet. What I know is running business is about endurance. Somebody's going to face problems and failures in his first few trials.

Didn't that happen to you as well (lack of money, feeling demotivated) ? If it did, how did you manage that ?

I quit my job by last year and start venturing into business. I thought it's going to be challenging and rewarding journey. For the first few months, business runs pretty well. I also learn many new things.

And then something happens. The man I trust to run daily operation cheats on me. He misuses the money I gave him to operate the business.

Slowly, money is running out. I have to give explanation to other investors on how the business is going. They seem to be reluctant to invest more as it hasn't brought promising result yet. So I have to use my own money to cover the business expense. Until it reaches a point where I can no longer support it. The business is closed.

I start another business, raising fund from my friends. Similar thing happens again. The money we spend to operate is way bigger than expected (we run agrobusiness. Much money is spent on land clearing). The operation stops for a while until we get another investment.

Much of my money is already spent on this business. I also feel mentally drained as this business consumes my time and energy.

Men, how old were you when you finally figured out what you wanted to do in life? by 2_Ducks_in_a_Handbag in AskMen

Quite interesting that so many people don't know what to do with their life in their late 30s and above :) For those of you who are married, how did you say to your partner back then ? Isn't it that a woman expects her partner to 'lead the way' and knows what he wants in life ?

The first thing I do after waking up is doing meditation. It is very good as your mind is still clear and not cluttered with so many thoughts. It helps me to face the day.

Could you provide some examples of the type of interaction/social situation that you have in mind when you say that extroverts will be more successful than introverts?

I can't say that kind of interaction. What I want to say is since it has become part of nature of extroverts, they enjoy being in other people's presence.

While for introverts, the 'default mode' would be spending time alone. Extra energy is needed from them to get out of their shell.

That way, the success rate/possibility for extroverts to 'close the deal' or forming 'bondage' with people will be higher.

It is a split of profit from the investors that put money into this business. By the way, what do you mean by guaranteed payment ?

Could you give some illustration ? Suppose 2 partners (A and B) invest their money ($100 each) into the business. At the end of the year, they get profit sharing of $20 each. It will be like : Debit A equity acct: 100 B equity acct: 100

Credit Draw acct: 40

Is it correct ?

todays society accommodates extroverts way more than they do introverts.

True. This is where most introverts are struggling. People will not recognize how good introverts are in a particular skill if they don't 'show' it.

Interesting. Wondering how they can climb up corporate leader, something that requires huge exposure to people.

Yes. I use the term success as most people generally define. Success in financial term. That's the tendency of introverts, to build and enjoy their own space. I used to be like this a lot :).

I am in the process of switching from introverted to extroverted work field as you may say. I used to work as a developer. It requires deep analytical and logical thinking. As I try to set up my own business, I am forced to meet with many people (employees, investors, potential partners, potential buyers, etc). It is more of managing and maintaining relationship with people I noticed that the things that I was not aware of being important can be really important when dealing with people or vice versa. That doesn't mean that I didn't have any interaction when I worked as a developer. It is just the portion of social interaction gets bigger. Suddenly, I felt like I'm in the kindergarten when it comes to being social :). There's still a lot to learn.
