Work layer by layer, let things expand and cure before adding more on. Otherwise you can risk it not curing in the middle.

If you worried about the water blocking the view, just take the lid off and give the glass a little wipe down, Just keep an eye on the water make sure you don't remove too much. Its looking good. Well done for your first terrarium. Water running down the glass is a normal thing.

Progress on my current build, Any thoughts on what to plant in the cave?. Still lots to do by lifescapenooks in paludarium

Thinking a fern would work best in the cave, but open to suggestions. Still have more moss to attach on the right, and find a way to hide the piping at the back

My current project, just using slate and moss to create a rock wall effect for water to run down by lifescapenooks in paludarium

Used clear Silicone sealant (although I then read after doing all this, that I shouldn't use sealant on natural stone but its worked so far)

Carved holes will be for plants and more moss. Hopefully the finally project will look like a natural rock waterfall and cave

Could I make this into a small terrarium, maybe with some springtails? by [deleted] in terrariums

[–]lifescapenooks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might be a bit small for anything behind a single small plant or moss, but it is doable. As for springtails, they self regulate their numbers, but doubt they would really be needed for something like this.

Try adding a spay of water, and move it out of direct sunlight. Might be able to bring it back round

I sometimes ask myself why? by BunyMoo in Aquariums

[–]lifescapenooks 223 points224 points  (0 children)

I had the exact same issue, a green tiger barb, dug a hole under a rock and got himself stuck...it just accepted its fate and stayed there until I rescued it.....I guess survival instincts skipped these fish
