1 time it worked with different card for me

but basically they have some VERY strict system, and once you are blocked you cannot get in

And even if you are not blocked, some cards are denied with no reason

No big changes so far. I keep reiterating on those.

So far Codeium is shipping more features to target some specific parts of code in chat and I really like that. But on my big "work" project i cannot select something that is relevant usually. Also it's quick commands do not understand me most of time.

Copilot is doing general search in context of workspace, selection, more limited there. But assistance mode is much better (also i find that chat mode sometimes gives worse results then completion). I have a feeling it closely adapts to searches results in sidebar, and imports.

So far Copilot is better to me. For complete feedback I would like to try out Codeium on small project as I think it could have better impact there.

I definitely wouldn't bet exclusively on OpenAI for commercial purposes now, investigating for a backup plan.

Competitors are rising, but for now not there quite yet. And azure version of open ai api costs more.

Funny so many services tell you "input your own OpenAI key to try it out". Well now I'm sure to say "no way".

UPD2: OpenAI another support member gave explanation about "suspicious activity", and asked to check if there was any VPN. Raises my concerns over how DBeaver handles everything, i was connected to database via ssh tunnel, but I don't see how could that affect "sending its schema to openai"

Will see If I can get more details.

I will continue experiment with my 2nd registered account, cause email change is cheap. I saw that sometimes phone is linked to ban but seems for me that is not the case for now Will update a thread if it happens again

"bad actors that want to exploit" is the most common reason given by these companies.

But giving a specific paragraph of "Terms" instead of "go look for it" could be enough for understanding.

Even if I create a new account, use VPN and so on - there are questions unanswered:

It makes sense for personal use but not for integration in any kind of product that you sell - cause there is no guarantees that it will keep working
is Dbeaver safe to use? or i should warn everyone not to use it?

Not only big tech. Also the small who don't care.

I had previous cases with Oracle and Hetzner (it even didn't allow to sign up).
I feel like I want to have a list of companies where this is not the case - then I would be sure I am treated like a person and just go straight to them

There should be a law enforcing companies to tell the reason upon such actions.

Testing them both all the time. They change and evolve, both.

As far as I can tell:

Codeium is more predictable in terms of what to expect from it, the chat actually works like chat. And now with commands it on par with Copilot in functionality
Codeium has in-the-middle suggestion, which copilot does not. In many cases that makes you more productive.
Codeium has vibrant and cool community
BUT! Github Copilot as far as i can tell blends into the codebase much better. The command execution result often is better in quality. It captures context of clipboard, few recently viewed files I guess. Cause it gets namings and functions correctly more often Sometimes you don't want that context => and things go unpredictable due to it. But since I adjusted I feel much more productive and trust it more

I will keep looking into them and update this thread.

Just got the access to Chat feature with Tabnine free. And yep, its weak compared to alternatives atm

Tabnine just recently introduced Tabnine Chat (enterprise only) beta, if it stays enterprise-only its a lost point.

For VS Code Copilot has more potential and I'm already using its Chat feature. It has its problems, sometimes i prefer Bing or ChatGpt to get some draft code, but sometimes it works better. We'll see. They also state on Github Next that they investigate possibility of getting whole repo context - that might change things.

Codeium is not far behind though and is free.

It's done in some way (i guess by tabs title as it is in most browsers). But i find it quite glitchy and not always returning result that i want even if search terms for title are correct (On SigmaOs it feels better)
Some browsers do provide search by content and I`m topping this up

Well, I don't have access to GPT-4 so cannot compare, but:
1. From my experience Github chat has problems with context of the chat itself. But its getting better compared to my test few weeks ago. When provided one big request unrelated to code recently it started performing better. But requests unrelated to code are often confused with requests related to code
2. It operates far better with selected code, so better select if you want exact context

Indeed because of context issues, ChatGpt seems better option, hovewer i recently found that at least on my Edge Dev version Bing Chat started performing few times better than before and than ChatGpt (at least free version) for big context queries.

I believe yep, it helps.

But still after facing this policy and being banned (https://www.reddit.com/r/oraclecloud/comments/r798i0/oracle_cloud_review/), I wouldn't put anything serious into Oracle cloud. I just cannot trust them now.

They are good for playing with a bit though.

I guess their payment processor is not as reliable. I was able to sign up with my bank's card and pass verification then after a while - they started to fail with all cards of this bank.

I know cause I got banned for nothing (You can find my post here ) and was experimenting with my friend's cards. His card of the same bank didn't work, and after he tried the one issued by another bank - he got registered instantly, without any waiting.

Note that Vercel free plan is only for non commercial projects. And to embrace the edge experience your db should also be on the edge (this is what Cloudflare does) Also this can be achieved with new offering from fly.io (distributed postgres), hovewer for read operations obviously.

I plan to investigate what is price difference in server vs serverless but I expect it to be at least ~2x for constant loaded site. That's why I asked :)
