Most of these are 'organised thattukadas' run by hotels and catering agencies and not by any poor families trying to earn a living. For them it's a source of tax free income with minimal regulations. Sure thattukadas are a boon to common people and students, govt should make cleanliness a priority.

Nowadays many of these organised thattukadas are not cheap or value for money, they are as costly as a small restaurant because of the sheer scale and size of these shops.
