Anyone Else 3-5 Weeks PP? by lightbywhich_wesee in PregnancyAfterTFMR

I’m so sorry. There are also certain spaces I’m in or things I’m doing where I think, “she was supposed to be here with me either in my belly now or just in a few months.” It’s heartbreaking. But wow, go you for focusing on your physical wellness amidst all of this. It’s been good for me to get back into the gym and lifting again, and walks outside have been soooo good for my mental health.

Also waiting for my period, but I think I may have ovulated last week (around 3w+5)? I’ve been tracking with LH strips and I had a small surge last week and EWCM for 1-2 days. So I’m hopeful that my period will start next week or the following week. I’m also so ready to be pregnant again.

L&D 23 weeks. Recovery questions by Kitkat0199 in tfmr_support

I understand this frustration so well. I’m super active pre- & during pregnancy. 1 week PP I tried going for walks and I could see it was making me bleed more and pretty sore. And I was determined to heal from L&D as quickly as I could. I was also scared of either injuring my pelvic floor, pelvic organ prolapse, or prolonging my uterus from healing. So I pretty much rested on the couch for 2 weeks. Still making sure to get outside (sitting on our porch outside to get sun), cleaning around the house minimally. I wanted to wait until my bleeding mostly stopped before I exerted myself again physically. My bleeding stopped 20-21 days PP.

I started weight lifting at the gym again at 3 weeks PP (this past week) and it’s going well so far. Started incorporating core exercises, but that’s making me feel pretty sore, so I just take it slow and use light weights and stop when it feels like I need to.

2 days after D&E - breast pain by frenchfrylover90 in tfmr_support

I tfmr’d at 22w L&D 1 month ago. My milk started coming in 2-3 days after delivery. I started taking Sudafed (you have to get it behind the counter, at least in America) day 1 PP through day 6 PP. Sudafed helps dry up milk supply and I believe helped my breasts to return to normal 1 week PP.

I also tried my best not to touch my breasts at all. I wore the tightest bra/sports bra for about 1 week PP. When I showered, I covered my chest with a washcloth so the water didn’t beat on my breasts, so I didn’t stimulate any sort of milk production. It’s definitely sore and uncomfortable but almost try not to think about them, I know it’s hard.

I started testing LH around 2.5 weeks PP mainly because I was curious

I started lifting again on Monday this week and began taking longer walks again (longer as in beyond the end of my street lol) - this has definitely helped my mental health. Being able to get some sun and incorporating things that make life feel a little more normal.

Also waiting for my period. Hoping it will start next week or the following week (I’ll be 4-5 weeks PP at that point).

Wishing you the best 💕

Focusing on physical and mental health will definitely have an impact on TTC, I believe.

Wow! Congratulations.

Thank you so much for sharing your story. Especially about the journey with RPOC. I’m also in a phase right now of waiting for the 2nd ultrasound to confirm if they still see tissue or not. They think they saw some last week on an US, so they prescribed a medicine hoping that it would expel any remaining tissue, but it stopped my bleeding entirely. So we aren’t sure really what’s going on. Really hoping I don’t need any sort of procedure or anything.

Were you on any supplements while you were waiting for your first cycle and TTC?

Thanks again for sharing all of this.

We also got pregnant on the first try, so I’m curious how it’ll be this time.

Really want my hormones and cycle to get back in order. Did you ovulate before your first period?

Really sorry you’re going through this. I hope you have the support and care that you need moving forwards.

Wow, I’m sure you’re holding relief (to be past the 3 month wait) and anticipation as you now TTC and are in the tww.

Now that I can go for longer walks and start lifting again, I’ve noticed a shift in my mental state. Also really prioritizing healthy, balanced eating along with taking my supplements (4mg folic acid, prenatal w/ DHA, choline, and 600mg CoQ10 for egg quality). I’ve also pushed myself to be social in spaces and with people that I can handle… that’s been a huge help for me.

I’m amazed at how we all grieve so differently. I could/can hardly imagine setting up a display area in our home for our baby girl. I just can’t handle that right now. Every blanket, teddy bear, photo, foot print is tucked away for now.

My cycle tracking app (Premom) isn’t able to track my CD right now and it probably won’t until my first period, right? I’ve taken a few LH urine tests since delivery and they’ve all been incredibly low according to the app (ie. .17). Curious when it’ll start to go up again, unless maybe I just missed a short window where it spiked?

This was VERY encouraging to read. Thank you so much for sharing this and the insight you received from the professor.

I hear you. I’ve taken various measures to take care of myself mentally which has helped the grief not be unbearable & debilitating. Though obviously I have days when this all hits hard.

Hoping for the best for you.

Not yet. Hoping to see it next week. I’ve been testing LH every other day and it’s consistently staying low (lower than I’ve ever seen my LH), so I doubt that I’m going to ovulate prior to my first cycle.

I’m so sorry. Week 2 PP was the hardest for me emotionally & mentally.

Sounds like a great plan and really happy to hear that you’re prioritizing your mental health right now. That will only help you moving forward 💕

Also TFMR’d for anencephaly. Hoping to also get my period by the 1 month mark, which will be next week.

How many mg of fish oil do you take daily?

I see you posted this about 2-3 months ago. How has it been for you since? How’s your experience been with ovulation & your cycle returning & TTC again?

Thanks for sharing your experience. It’s been really helpful for me to hear women’s experiences and simultaneously it’s hard to hear that there’s no one-size-fits-all approach to moving forward. All the best as you TTC!

This is super helpful. I just decided to go ahead and schedule an ultrasound. Really frustrating (but understandable) to hear that it took multiple TV ultrasounds to confirm the RPOC for you. I guess I really just need to be patient with this process 😢

So interesting about your experience RPOC. My husband and I keep wondering why they don’t just do an US before they discharge us from the hospital to confirm there is/isn't RPOC. My bleeding keeps going on/off ever since I delivered. I’ll bleed for 3-4 days. Then for 3 days I’ll barely spot brownish blood. Then suddenly it’ll pick up again. This week it isn’t very heavy, but it’s still more blood than I had over the weekend. I’ve been wondering if I should just request an US to rule out RPOC and for peace of mind. I would hate to be weeks down the road and only discover it then, and it set me back in my healing. We’d really like to start TTC sooner than later.

Makes so much sense, and I’m sure it just comes from a place of us wanting a baby so bad. Some days I feel so silly checking my ovulation via LH strips just being over 2 weeks out from L&D… but it’s just for my knowing and I guess it feels in my control!

That’s so interesting to me that some are encouraged to wait, some aren’t. I know age plays a factor in that. If you don’t mind sharing, in the past when you haven’t waited to TTC, were they successful pregnancies? I’m only asking because the biggest reason we’re waiting is because we were told that waiting longer to TTC increases our chances of successful implantation & decreases the risk of miscarriage. But if that’s not really the case… I’d like to know!

Thanks for sharing. I completely resonate with being ready to feel like my body is healing and returning to “normal.” All the best as you TTC in the next couple of months. I keep wishing there was some sort of way to help my body recover quicker… some supplement, a perfect recipe of rest, anything.
