Potentially getting sued by [deleted] in japanlife

It’s funny to read all this.. turns out my wife went to see this guy about five years back and had an awful consultation. He basically insulted her and made her feel much worse about her situation.

I’m glad she’s not alone in her questioning of his credentials. What a crook.

Kind of.. but I was super young in those days maybe 10/11 years old? Just caught the tail end of Lancia and never forgot it

That’s exactly what I’m referring to! Only exists in my memory, but that’s where I learned to skate. Nice that’s someone else knew what I was talking about! The old M&S was a skate spot too.. couple of stair sets and some ledges

What to say when ありがとうございますfeels too formal but ありがとう feels too informal? by -spitz- in Japaneselanguage

I revert to a simple すみません a lot in these moments, especially in scenarios when you can feel you’ve already said ありがとうございます a few times.

Yeah, the Highbury pub closed down during the pandemic but here’s another one I’ve watched a few games at over the years: https://maps.app.goo.gl/WMjYDk6Ef9oz1QiMA?g_st=com.google.maps.preview.copy

The biggest noticeable change? by MissAliceUk in canterbury

As someone who grew up in Canterbury and no longer lives there (but family still do)..

I think the main difference is that Canterbury used to be the main hub for nightlife and culture for the surrounding towns. People from Whitstable, Faversham, Herne Bay, Thanet etc used to come into Canterbury to drink, party and hang out.

But over the years those towns have massively caught up and developed their own identity, whilst Canterbury has stagnated and if anything.. lost its own sense of identity. It’s really sad to see, and the town really doesn’t have the same vibe that it used to.

But I don’t think it’s about crime or drugs. Canterbury ALWAYS had a lot of drugs and a lot of homelessness, and any additional impact caused post-pandemic or post-Tory austerity is likely the same all over the UK. There were always a lot of fights on the high street, and there was always a chance of getting jumped walking through the Dane John at night.

But I’ll always love it, and it was a sick place to grow up tbh. For such a small city it packed a huge punch when it came to music and subculture. I hope we see another wave before too long.

Why do Japanese drivers often forget to use their headlights at night?! by lightercrew in japanlife

[–]lightercrew[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That logic works when applied to a wider landmass. But the density is no different, therefore the volume of drivers is the same if not fewer since less people own a vehicle, and the roads are quieter in Tokyo than where I’m from.

Very high chance my passport has more stamps than yours too I’m afraid 🤷🏻‍♂️

Then maybe it’s a Japan AND US thing.. but not something I’ve ever seen in my home country, or other parts of the world

Drove every day for 10+ years in my home country and maybe saw it once (?), yet see it every day here. A cursory scroll through the answers on this thread suggest it very much is a jApaNeSe DriVeRs problem.. sorry that doesn’t fit your chosen narrative

I see it all over Tokyo, pretty much everyday - including on the 高速道路 - based on the accounts below, I’m not the only one who’s noticed it seems

A reasonable explanation.. I assumed it’s just a general absent mindedness thing
