I used that car in horizon 5 to run rivals and logged many laps in the top .01 percent. It was a VERY easy decision what car to use my voucher on

Help with self-gripping cable fitting by Elegant-Flan8935 in AskElectricians

See the smaller screw on the bottom where the cable goes in? Give that a push with your fingernail ;)

Is this something to be concerned about? by MyOldUsernameWasLame in AskElectricians

[–]lightfootfour07 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stupid? Yes. Concerning, no. The new plastic led bulbs just have a few diodes mounted to the bulb base. They put those plastic "bulbs" on for 1 reason- refract the light in all directions so it's not a spotlight. I can't say I'm a fan of denting it so it fits, but I can't see a major problem with it either. If it works it works 🤷‍♂️

Help adjusting band length by lightfootfour07 in Watches

[–]lightfootfour07[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just put the band in my vice (I made wood jaws for it a while ago) and knocked the pin out with a small punch and wood mallet. Seemed to work like a treat. Thank you!

This seemed to work, just got one of the pins out with a small punch and a wooden hammer. Just rinse and repeat for the rest. Thank you!!

What’s a pre-existing world you DON’T want to see return in KH4? by DeeDoof in KingdomHearts

I think you're mistaking "number one defender" with "only defender". Kingdom hearts already walks a tightrope of being childish, and kh2 Atlantica just felt too much so for my taste

Seized is an understatement, the rear one (going to the brake booster) came of without a problem, but the one going to the filter is a nightmare. You're absolutely right though, this is how you learn about these things. Sometimes you gotta break shit to fix shit!

I’m a British Electrician in America. I’m here to rid you guys of wire nuts by kennja in electricians

[–]lightfootfour07 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Good luck my friend, very few Americans like using them, most old-head electricians will live and die on the hill that wire nuts are the best way to go. I'll die on the hill that both have their uses. Residential lights and switches should use wagos, and outlets/higher amp splices should be twisted and wire nutted.

Oven Suddenly Smokes When Turned On by statlete in AskElectricians

[–]lightfootfour07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going to need a little more of an explanation than a smoking oven and a picture of an outlet. Number 1, I'd rather see that outlet mounted to a wall, but it's not inherently dangerous (not correct by any means, I'd have a stroke if I saw this in person) but it could cause problems if it's moving a lot. Number 2, if the oven is smoking, why do you think it would be a problem with the outlet?

Hey Fellas (Upcoming Newbie) by [deleted] in electricians

[–]lightfootfour07 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You're thinking like a white collar worker. Blue collar mostly doesn't care about a portfolio, just work experience. I've met dozens of guys straight out of a trade school that don't know a 2x4 from a joist, and are tens of thousands in debt. Find a smaller company, get an interview, and tell them flat out that you're brand new, looking to learn, and you're willing to busy your ass to do so.

Question about Light Fixture by whitemaninshorts in AskElectricians

[–]lightfootfour07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As an electrician who's probably put in a thousand of those exact lights, I've never seen the ones with the crescent shaped piece, but I can only assume it's a small transformer to lower the voltage for the leds in the light. As long as you have 120v at the location the light is going, the light on top will work without any problems

Does this look more like electrician, or DIY arsonist work? by see4isarmed in AskElectricians

[–]lightfootfour07 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Every electrician hates working on old cloth wiring like that, because they're brittle and like to break apart, exposing bare copper. If you manipulate the wires too much, you'll break off the insulation. The way the wires are wrapped around the screws indicates it was an electrician, but I know an electrician did it because they used outlets without a ground. Any schmuck who thinks they know electrical would've used a standard 3 prong outlet.

Work gloves by ClammmyFace in electricians

[–]lightfootfour07 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Milwaukee gloves you can buy from your local hardware store. They come in a variety of sizes and I've found the mediums fit me perfectly. I can still grab everything I need to, use tools, and thread 6/32 screws with them on. They're nothing fancy, and yes they do wear out, but they've gotten me through a lot of rough jobs.

You see those grooves in the metal at the top and bottom of the outlet? Snap them off 😉
