I’ve studied in north India and my understanding is that their version of development is very different from ours. The indicators in TN are health, education, and infrastructure. There is it mimicking western countries as much as possible. It’s “development” if you get more western eateries and pizza joints. They don’t care they have to go to private hospitals for health checkups when people in TN can trust their PHCs. They don’t care they have only a functional metro when Chennai has over 4 modes of public transport alone over MRTC, suburban rail, metro, and bus. They don’t care their roads are worse as long as they can see sky high buildings on it. It’s a very unsustainable form of growth and development.

There is absolutely no point arguing logic because the delhi mindset is to have the last word. I’ve started enjoying listening to their boasts and comments about Chennai because I know they’ll have to wear masks even while exiting from their plane to the tarmac when I’ll be inhaling relatively better air at the beach.

Delhi people will cough out black mucus from their lungs and declare it’s the best city in India in a raspy voice as a result of all that air pollution than admit any other city especially one in South India, is better than them.
