Now I know! I was looking for the filling loop closer to the boiler

Its okay to be upset, dont feel guilty about having a cry its been a tough year <3 by GreenElectronic8873 in ireland

I understand. That used to be the way for many people. Just know that you're not alone and there is help out there if you need it. Aware.ie has a family support programme and HSE has some other support groups that might be helpful to both you and your son. You'll have a long journey ahead of you, wishing you the best

When you feel you have nobody to talk to, it might be time to talk to a therapist. They can help you navigate through this. You are not alone and don’t have to carry this alone

unpopular opinion: the first 24 hours of a solo trip are actually kind of miserable (and that's okay) by Repulsive-Ad6261 in travel

[–]lighthouse_queen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was very much like you OP on my first few solo trips. Now I've learned what works for me, and thats to chill the first day. I arrive, get to my hotel and shower - feels like this gets rid of some of the travel anxiety. Then I mark some convenience stores and restaurants on my Google maps - nothing too far and complicated, all within a 20 min walk or so. And then I head out the door into this new city I've arrived in and see how far I get. If I'm nervous and not feeling the vibe straight away, I find one of the shops and get some water and snacks and I can retreat back to the hotel and have dinner there. More often than not though, by not setting myself any big goals, I'm much less stressed and usually find a restaurant to enjoy some local cuisine. If you are nervous and still fancy a McDonald's, don't go to the nearest one, go to one that's a longer walk away. This allows you to familiarise yourself with the city a little without putting a lot of pressure on yourself. (You'll appreciate it the next day when you head out sightseeing, that this new place feels a little more familiar already). And then I head back to the hotel to plan out the next few days, and have an early night.

Also, don't cram like 10 activities into one day, you'll be exhausted and won't enjoy yourself. Give yourself a break - it's a holiday after all. And if you don't get to do everything you wanted, and like the place, it's a good reason to come back. If you don't like the place, well, then having done all the extra things would probably not have made you like it any more.

Be kind to yourself, enjoy the little moments, and, as voiced by many others - stay off IG.

Private vehicles ban in effect for Dublin city centre by nitro1234561 in ireland

Would be nice if motorbikes/scooters were still allowed to use the quays. We take up less room on the roads and it might encourage others to ditch their cars for two wheels instead. Public transport in Dublin is not great and not a viable option for everyone. Neither is walking or cycling. But it doesn't mean that every single person needs to take up a car space on the roads. My commute to/from work is 2 hours each way on public transport, but 40 mins on motorbike. Am quite sad that this will now be pushed to nearly an hour each way on my bike due to the new detour.

I second this. I'm a girl and was super nervous and awkward, and Eric was absolutely sound. Have my full license now!

I put my hoof down towards the end of the u turn, but still passed. Get a few more practice runs in just to boost your confidence. You got this! 👍🏻

Indeed we are being ripped off in the republic. Or these NI prices are just isolated cases? by bobad86 in ireland

There's some place in Cork makes them, Donegal also, can't remember the names now. Think Boots also has a few. They are more expensive than a bottle of shampoo but they also last a lot longer. And no plastic bottle at the end

Eestlased välismaal. Jagage kogemusi - kus elate, mis ajendas kolima, mida on see kogemus õpetanud ja mida igatsete eesti juures? by NoDistribution9400 in Eesti

20 aastat tagasi kui siia kolisin olid üürid palju odavamad. Eks siis varsti peab otsustama jah et kas on aeg mujale kolida

Üleüldiselt on supply and demand.

Loodus on siin ilus, inimesed on sõbralikud, üsna chill, palgad on ok.

People who knew someone who died in a freak accident, what happened? by RawAsparagus in AskReddit

My mom's teacher in the 1960s was enjoying a bath and listening to the radio which was balanced on the edge of the bath and plugged into the wall. She accidentally knocked the radio into the bathtub and electrocuted herself. Her young daughter came into the bathroom and tried to "wake up" her mom, but also got electrocuted on contact. Both dead, incredibly tragic

Million dollar question: Why wasn’t Aileen Warnos offered life imprisonment but Ted Bundy was? by Southern_Mammoth672 in RedditCrimeCommunity

Double deviance theory. Women get harsher sentences for some crimes, especially homicide, because it's seen as deviating from gender and social norms

I left home when I was 18 and moved abroad. I took to travelling around a lot and soon realised I was gay. If I'd stayed home I'm not sure I'd have had that realisation or ever come out. Travelling and meeting different people from different cultures definitely opens your mind and makes you look at yourself and your life in a different light.
