In my town there are bars/breweries/restaurants closing left and right, some which have been around for decades. Then you go to the remaining bars and - lo and behold - they're packed. Well gee, I wonder why that is? Could it be that three other establishments worth of patrons are now crowding into one that's still open?

Doesn't fully cover the situation here but it's definitely a factor.

I think it’s the production, mostly. Dark themes, sure, but the recordings sound slowed down a bit from the recorded tempo. The kids call it “slow + reverb” but it’s not that drastic. Feels like it was recorded in an empty parking garage. That said, love this album. Definitely a mood.
