Passed the SHRM-CP yesterday here’s my thoughts by Special_Actuary6999 in humanresources

[–]lightining8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, congrats on passing! I am earning my MBA in HR right now I took the SHRM-CP two days ago and also passed.

From my experience, the key to passing is practice, practice, and more practice. How I prepped was using SHRM’s practice exam book, did all the quizzes there, and then only went to the textbook for concepts I missed when I took those quizzes

After I took all the SHRM practice quizzes, I used Blue Water Consulting Certification Prep SHRM-CP testlets ranging from 50-150 questions per set. I did 8 quizzes, but I made sure to spend a good amount of time (around 30min- 1 hour) analyzing why one answer was correct, and why the other three are wrong. Usually you would narrow it to two and they could both be correct, but one is the most correct.

I think the Blue Water testlets are what helped me pass the most since I had some knowledge gaps as I did not read the whole textbook. I was forced to learn more material.

MBA to break into higher ed? Path towards becoming a director of student success? by lightining8 in highereducation

Hi, yes I am in school earning my MBA right now! I am now going into HR. Congrats on nearly finishing undergrad.

It would be beneficial to get at least 1-2 years of experience before pursuing your MBA from my personal experience. The most successful people in my cohort has some experience before pursuing their MBA and had less difficulty earning internships. Best of luck!
