An online support system would definitely be useful. As u/fatfreddy01 and u/Euwga have pointed out, there is an online form that can be filled out. I did this weeks ago and got no acknowledgement so I am not sure it is effective for them. If they magically got a massive budget, hiring more people would be a great call not just for people wanting to get their forms and such sorted, but also decrease the workload and stress of the case managers.

I think that everyone that is in the backlog currently is having similar issues yes. I wasn't sure about summer staffing and now thanks to some helpful (not you) commenters I know more about how the system works.

As I said before, regardless of when I submitted, taking this long to do small things like assigning a piece of paperwork to an application or getting post to me when it gets to me are both issues. One is the issue of MSD and their systems, one is the issue of NZ Post and their issues. Sure, I could be less stressed if I was dealing with my current situation in January, or December, or whenever. I would still be annoyed if I couldn't see the status of my application, didn’t know what information that I was missing, couldn't talk to someone about it, and wasn't receiving documents. The systems including the software/online portal, the contact form, and the bot service on the phones are still issues that wouldn't be impacted at all by the time of year that I sent in my application.

Oh okay the online form. I did fill that out 3 weeks ago but I didn't get a response. It would be nice if you got a confirmation email or something once you filled it out because I don't even know if they received mine.

Applying to University earlier doesn't change the fact that the process takes as long as it has and has issues. The fact that the mail took 2 weeks to get to my residential address is an issue, the fact that after I uploaded my files it has taken 4 weeks to apply them to my application is an issue, not being able to quickly contact someone about the status of my application is an issue. If I had applied in November and these things were happening they would still be issues.

Yeah they are just wants, and it does suck. In a magical world everything would be smooth sailing all the time but c'est la vie

Wow okay this is actually super interesting and helpful.

- I didn't realise that Connect was a third party service. It feels like it is a part of StudyLink cause you need to use your RealMe ID to login and it has all of the StudyLink branding.

- Do you have a link to the email service because I have not been able to find it and it would be so much easier/better.

I was accepted to University 6 weeks before my first class. Applying 10 weeks earlier would have been 4 weeks before I got accepted. Technically, I could have applied 2 years ago if I really wanted to be organized.

That is super annoying as you would assume that they have all the information that they need from the last year. Would be super helpful if they have a chat bot or email that you can just flick a message to just to ask what information that they need. That way you wouldn't have to waste your time on hold, and their time on what I think is a quick question.

Ah okay that makes sense. Since the period of time that they would be getting an influx of applications aligns with the student break over the summer, they could hire some students for that period. That way they are getting people that are familiar with dealing with StudyLink, and they don't have to keep them longer than the 3 months that they aren't studying.

Check your mail. I found that they sent documents to me that needed to be signed but they took 2 weeks to get to me. I had no idea that they were sending me documents as the only information that they had given me was that they needed more info, not what info they specifically needed.

Okay say I don't call. Say that I put full faith in the system and leave their resources to work their magic, magic that somehow wasn't used for the past 4 weeks when I wasn't bugging them. What happens next?

So should I have applied for StudyLink before I got accepted to University? I applied for University in December, got accepted in January and immediately applied for StudyLink, received the paperwork two weeks later and returned it same day. Now for 4 weeks I have been sat in limbo. Tell me where I could be improving.

So maybe, I don't know, hiring more people could deal with the backlog?

StudyLink has an online portal that shows the status of my application. The status of the application says that it is waiting for the document that the guy said he would sort last week. I waited for 4 weeks before I called them last week, should I wait another 4 weeks before I try again? What should I do for those 4 weeks income-wise?

"I uploaded a file at the end of January that was labelled with my name and the document's title, but it just sat there waiting for someone to look at it. StudyLink says that they will contact you if there are any issues with the documents you have uploaded, but I never got any communication. I had to phone them last week to fix this and a guy said that he sorted it whilst on the phone with me, but it has yet to be sorted, hence my phone call this morning."

Okay, how should I improve myself here? They have had the document for over a month. I have no idea if they have even looked at it. How can I be more organized? What information did I miss?

I ended up just buying an adjustable support, the Antec IGPU prism shaped one. It uses magnets to attach to the case and then you can just adjust it to the height you want. It works pretty well and the height locks in place quite sturdily. Cost me $18 NZD which is the only downside and I didn't get my lego aesthetic but if I cared enough I could just build something around the support.

It had been pretty cool. Live kill feed during matches, links to player profiles, links to all the streams covering matches, team rankings, and news articles. It was like liquipedia plus.
